Stranger Things (Netflix)

I've just started watching this from season 1 for the first time over the last couple of weeks. just did s4e3. came in completely spoiler free (for instance I now know where the 'sailor woman holding a whiteboard' meme comes from!) and I'm enjoying it a lot. I like the arcs of Max, El and Mike but Will is getting a bit boring. Glad he is speaking up a bit so far in season 4!

I feel weirdly nostalgic after watching each episode even though I was born in 1990. Mainly because it looks fun growing up in 80s USA. I wish I wasn't starting to get old!

Just binge watched all 4 seasons over the past week or so to see what all the fuss and hype was about.

Season 1 had me hooked on entertainment value, then it just started to go a bit downhill story wise. Sure it's a decent series, but definitely not up there with the best. Will still watch S5 though.

Season 1 and 4 were good for me. Curious what you consider the best.

Finished this up over the weekend, didn't enjoy season 3 - to many annoying characters introduced and the comedy was off for me. The timing of it in particular just felt that it took away from the more serious moments (Dustin and his gf singing, wtf!).

Season 4 was much better, felt like it embraced its horror roots again and Yuri and Eddie were great additions. Dragged a bit for the last few episodes as they were far to long. How Max didn't hate that Kate Bush song after listening to it on loop for a few days I'll never know, I'd certainly had enough of it by the end :p.

Is Max being lined up to the S5 big bad with Vecna possessing her? Seems to be where its heading with 11 not being able to find her when she went looking.

glad you decided to give it a go.

I wasn't thinking anything like that for Max in S5. i forget, but wasn't max alive and talking to lucas at the end at the house? what happened after that to cause max to be in hospital unconscious?

Well Max was bait to lure Vecna so they could destroy his physical body, 11 did a long distance vulcan mind meld :)P) so she could help, they had a fight and long story short it appears Max dies from her injuries which enabled the Upside Down to break through into our world, 11 resurrected her but she's in a coma. 11 went looking for her with her freaky mind powers but cant find her which I assumed meant she's brain dead and with them not being able to find Vecna's body after he was apparently killed it lead me to think she'll be possessed - although it could just be that her soul/dreamstate is trapped in the whatever mental illusion was created by Mr V though.
