Street Fighter (SFIV, SSFIV, HDR)

yup nice casuals earlier guys. Kreee I'll have to play your deejay some more as I dont think I have really played any decent deejays before.

OMH - our first Ryu vs Dhalsim casual was so close lol.

I thought I played pretty badly tbh (blaming it on being really quite ill!).

On a good day, I absolutely spank most Cody's as they have nothing to deal with an ambiguous cross up on wakeup.

Distorted, I don't really want to play long sessions against Ryu's, I get bored very quickly as I have played that match up so much. There are still so many of the cast that I haven't properly played against yet.

You spanked me in one of those rounds as Akuma! I appreciate you whipping out some different characters :)

I mesh well with DeeJay, but he is such a bad character. Can't wait for Arcade Edition as he has loads of necessary buffs.

Notice how terrible my Rog is now though? I can't actively play 2 characters...

Ggs bro u landed so many ultras and supers on me it was ridiculous, ggs believe it or not that was me playing more defensive, I'm gnu start using ryu he's wikkedd.

Ggs Kree onlyplayed ur once or twice I hate deejay and his weird jumpsnand anti airs, will adapt soon enough hopefully
omh was doing some evill combos today especially with that ken

When you pulled out Rog I was thinking 'ok he's rolled his sleeves up now' lol, but what I saw was unrecognisable compared to the Rog that turned up in gamerbase Manchester many months back. I've always been the same though, find it difficult to do 2 chars, I was using Akuma quite a bit recently and when I'm back on Ryu I am still doing the motion for air fireballs LOL which luckily isn't punishable since I'm normally a fair distance away from my opponent. It's tough, and I'm considering dropping Ryu to try learn some combos with Akuma. I even managed to beat OMH with Akuma, and was also doing good in the previous game which got hit by a massive lag spike. If I had some combos with him I might actually be ok.
 
Btw guys check out the new yun and yang matches online, mago uses yang and memo uses yun, tokido sticks to akuma. Yang has awesome combos hope they make them dlc asap

We always have v close games but one thing that is very obvious to me, your Akuma has much better combos. You start using Ryu, I'm gonna start using Akuma and in a week or so we will have a first to 10 lol.

Ideally I'd have both characters up to scratch for the next set of tournaments, but I find it very jarring switching between 2 characters. After a few games I usually settle into the character again, but that's useless if I want to whip out an alternate for a round.

Maybe I should just stick with low tier DeeJay. If I can do well with him with all these bad match ups things can only get better when he gets bumped to upper mid tier in AE.

Thing is, I always wonder if any of the other characters would mesh with me even better than DeeJay, but I just can't pick up new characters like Art can.

To start with, I'd learn these 3 Akuma combo's:

1 - hk clk/cmk lk.tatsu hp.dp
2 - clk clp clk/cmp lk.tatsu hp.dp
3 - hp.dp (2 hits) FADC red fireball

Looking like June for Console AE. That's far too late as I will have completely dropped SFIV by then for MvC3.

Sounds good. Akuma is addictive, once you land a combo you are tempted to continue attacking, beware, I get caned often for overdoing it lol. My ryu is going to be a copy of yours and distorteds in one ( arts ryu combos are tricky for me to do). Try using his cross up tatsu it's awesome.any tips for ryu guys? Much appreciated
 
June?!?!? Crazy. I guess they're trying to prolong the life of the game. Wonder when evil ryu and Pratt akuma will be released. Then maybe violent ken, Seth with clothes on, zangief with no chest hair, gouken in cammys outfit who knows.

No, they're doing it so the arcade operators get their moneys worth.

Evil Ryu/Akuma are highly likely to be boss only characters.
 
I see. I'd say the sf4 series could probably hold out another year before something new is required. Until then I'd expect new costumes etc to maintain some interest. I've abandoned my wii since sf4, better get back on with Mario kart
