It's called playing a character that has no real gimmicks no matter how good he is. And when you consider the players and characters he lost to in previous years.

Still, the fact that he can still make Top 8 every year says something too.

True, Ryu really is as plain as they come. Daigo has always said that he doesn't play to win though, only to express himself. He could do a ChrisG and choose whoever it takes to win, but then he wouldn't be as beloved as he is.

Yeah but in retrospect, back then, no one really saw Seth's potential the way Poongko bought it to everyone. And when you look at the way things are now, more people at least know about and are aware of them shenanigans now. Same can be said for Viper, the amount of BS that comes with her.

Have never seen an Eryu at EVO before from what I remember so that'll be very nice. I can remember when Poongko emerged with Seth, the explosions of Seths online from that point onward...

I mean Sako vs Xian, two execution monsters, of course Daigo vs Inflitration again. and PRRog vs Tokido, where these two can either go back and forth.

Unlucky for Gamerbee though especially after a great showing last year. But damn, Haitani! Where the hell have you been?

There was another well known Japanese Makoto player too. I've totally forgotten who his name is now, seeing as we haven't seen him for ages.

EDIT - Shiro?? Was that the name?

I can remember when Gen was considered the worst character, even worse than Dan. Times have changed, he's definitely a threat here.

True, and he has that mystery factor, I doubt everyone knows matchups against him as well as they will the major characters. Completely forgot that Tokido is in this, anyone remember this?

Rog using Fei is weird, don't think I've seen that either.

He's used Fei before, and has had "some" success, but unfortuantely not enough.

I missed SF on friday, is Latiff in this? I gave him a few games on the xbox a while back after he was eliminated from EVO2011, I honestly have never been bodied so badly before.

Tokido vs Infiltration would be so good, shame.
