Student counsellor, 25, 'romped with pupil at £14,000-a-year private school'

I LOL'd at all the "she's not all that but oh God, I would tap it SO hard!" comments :D

Then I LOL'd at myself for expecting any of you to have standards :D

LOLception

Wut?

That barely makes any sense, given that only one post was even slightly similar to what you've posted.

You're still going to have to make some effort, you know, no matter how low-hanging you think the fruit is here...

You guys really are a predictable bunch, I'm sure you'd be saying 'niceee' if their genders were swapped. Consent is also only applicable if each party is around the same maturity level. A nearly 10 year age gap is completely out of order.

I don't think there's anything about "maturity levels" written in law. Mental disability, sure, but for two otherwise normal people the only thing the law cares about is age and "being in a position of authority". Maturity levels don't come into it, because there's no objective test for "maturity levels".

I mean, the law literally couldn't give a fig if a 60 year old has consensual sex with an 18 year old. So where "maturity levels" comes into it I have no idea.

If my 16 year old son had sex with a 25 year old woman, I'd tell him to be careful and be secretly proud.

If my 16 year old daughter had sex with a 25 year old man, I'd be...cross.

People may call this sexist, but as a father it's just a fact. Sorry if that hurts your butts and makes you weep about how unfair the world is.

Nah it's creepy as ****.

You aren't really taking advantage of a 16 year old boy by sleeping with him, a 16 year old girl getting pregnant changes her life dramatically, there is a difference whether people like it or not

true

also the pregnancy angle is a random one, there was some teenager in the US who was raped (in the statutory sense as he was under age) and his female rapist decided to not only keep the baby but pursued him for child support.. he's liable for it despite being the rape victim!

I hope you have don't actually have any children. because.....

Nah it's creepy as ****.

Best way a man can achieve reproductive success = boning everyone.

Best way a lady can achieve reproductive success = picking the fittest mate (fittest in the sense of being reproductively successful), as being pregnant and having children is an enormous burden. Young people are impressionable and are often not wise enough to know what's best for them.

So it's not 'creepy' to be more protective of your daughters... kinda instinctive, I'd suggest. Of course, I'd be pretty upset at the age gap Participant is suggesting... well, maybe just jealous :p

careful Nitefly, you're starting to sound almost "red pilled"

next you'll be talking about "alpha males" like Tosno etc..

Glad you laughed since I was just making a joke :p

I'm in agreement with the point that people would call bloody murder if it was the other way around.

And this situation is not really about age, but about the position of responsibility of the teacher that makes it wrong. I mean, looking at the age of consent in S.Carolina it can be as low as 14 if the partner is 18 or lower. That would cause outrage here, but it's legal there.
Yeah it's all about the position of responsibility. I experienced the craziest version of this. My first job when i was 18 was an IT technician at a Secondary School/Sixth form. I was younger than some of the Sixth formers but was told several times in the interview that I would be breaking the law if I got involved with one of them. Pretty weird situation....which wasn't helped when I used to bump into them on nights out when they were drunk and would jump all over me :D

It's a odd one to be honest, my granparents have 10 years between them, but no one bats an eye lid.

At what age does age gap not become a problem? Is it purely down to them being 16? Or when they turn 18 does it make it okay? Or 21?
