Would they class my car as a sports car do you think?

email them but i doubt it i think its more about the size of the engine, think me and my mates are definitely going to be doing this once we have checked everything out!

I wonder if twincharged, nitrous'd Rover 1.8 VVC's are allowed.... in a Metro... with steelies... and a tartan rug!

Oh oh... and a bag of worthers on the passenger seat!

Nope i wouldnt think so. Not quite on the same level as a Porsche really. ;)

Every non-car person i know always says "omfg how can you afford a sports car". It depends on whether they know much about cars tbh.

Lets do team OCUK....get a few together, that way theres greater chance of getting a result. Within Motors we each (and all) have knowledge in many areas.....

I'm keen to chuck my MG ZT in with some OCUK graphics (its black btw), and having just a smidge over 180bhp (soon to be 200bhp) and more comfort than you can shake a comfy stick at (sorry, i was about to talk about the emense 420NM of torque giving a 5th gear 70-90mph acceleration time of less than 5 seconds), but that would bore some of you! :D

I wonder I'd get away with entering the Mondeo - 1988cc! And it's a TRUE student car.

Well not at the moment it isn't its parked on the drive all week but hey :p

Your Mondeo is too well looked after to be a student car... It needs patches of rust on the sills, bird crap on the roof, mould on the windows and to only move once a week to do the Netto run.

Thanks to the op for pointing this out for everyone. This is being seriously considered by me and a few friends....

Shame about the 2 litre rule. There's an Audi S3, an A4 with the 1.8 Turbo engine.

Apart from top speed, most 2.0 manuals will outrun my 3.2 litre. Maybe if i can prove that i bought the car cheap, and pay not much to insure it (surely thats what a student car is about), if so don't consider an S3 or a Mk5 Golf to be "student cars".

Surely any car a student uses should be considered a student car? Bit weird tbh.

The 2 litre rule seems quite stupid, I can see why they've done it but when they've got people entering Audi S3's and BMW 320d's and new Mini's you know it's kinda pointless really.

They shouldn't have bothered with the engine restrictions tbh. They should just require proof that you are a student and that you have owned the car for X amount of months or whatever.
