Subaru-powered Toyota FT-86 gets closer to production...

They have me an extended test drive and I had the car for about 4 hours this afternoon. My god it handles well!!

I didn't order one then and then as I had to think about it. Getting back into my Focus it felt like I was drinking a Tank!!

I was hooked after my test drive and ordered one the next day

I have had my pearl white for a week and it is great

saw a black one of these in my local village today when I went to the shop, they were gawking at my gt4 when I arrived and decided to show off when they left giving it full beans through the village, must have hit top of 2nd gear in a 30 limit which Is classy, it had a non stock exhaust as it was loud, and sadly sounded just like all the crappy non vtec civics and corsa's with big exhausts that usually race up and down, really sounded crap and slow. shame as its such a lovely car but i'm sure with the right exhaust it would sound nice, however in this case the sound really didn't fit the car. Maybe its just me I just didn't expect this thing to go down the road farting like a 1.2 corsa with an induction kit and dustbin exhaust on it.

Why are most people concerned with the top speed? I doubt even 1% of this forum have maxed out any car in their life.

This car was never sold as a 200mph+ beast. Slightly confused....

0-60 is high 6's to mid 7 seconds that's plenty fast for any British road ever made.

You right top speed isn't important. However getting dusted by TDI s up and down the country won't give you that feeling if satisfaction in your new 25k sports car...

Most people in motors will have reached top speed of their car I'd have thought. It's only the select few with mega fast cars who might not of because of the actual speed involved. Still I know where he is coming from. Would love a GT86 myself, interior is nice imo.

I know of people who have beaten that number by a considerable amount, within Essex.

lol, i'm not saying one cannot, just to do so is 1) visibly antisocial 2) difficult due to the number of speed cameras / average speed zones / traffic etc.

Basically, to get up to 130, you look like a bit of a plank.
