*****Summer 2021*****

I'll be in the pubs as soon as I'm back in the UK. Hopefully with my "just been vaccinated" badge with a "nhs" love heart badge next to it, wearing 2 face masks whilst sharing 2nd jab stories and complaining about how busy it is not being able to socially distance

What’s the point in a spring thread? No ones interested in average weather, we’re all about the extremes here.

We’re not happy unless we’re freezing or sweating our knackers off

Mid spring is the best time of year. The footy season nears the end, the snooker's on, the darts is on, warmer weather but not ruddy cold or sweating your crackers off. I've had enough of the cold now, roll on 19c days and comfortable nights/mornings that I don't have to dress up like an eskimo for when walking the dog.

I do 3 seasons tbh. Jan-Apr (mostly Winter), May-Aug (Summer), Sep-Dec (Autumn).

So Summer is just around the corner. Like with Lysander, I'm not keen on the bright early mornings. Once I wake it I find it hard to get back to sleep. Also, I get more nightmares in the summer, tend to get depressed during these months. I think it's like SAD but inverse-SAD instead. The heat is an issue too, not so much inside my house as I have a/c, but I struggle outside when it approaches 20C or above.

Summer - June - Aug
Winter - The rest.

So much for Summer. Its snowing quite heavily this morning. Just the sort of weather to go back to the pub in.

I don't think winter is over. :p

Is this journalism trash or are you serious?

You do know bill gates is actually a world leader when it comes to eradication of polio? He also knew a pandemic was coming and had been warning people for years.

The man is probably the smartest person alive. He's spent billions on vaccinating Africa using his own personal wealth.

He's got experience in this field thanks to his work on polio.

Maybe do your own research into him.

Starting it now. Winters done, the nice weather is arriving. The long hard Covid winter will soon be a distant memory. Hallelujah.

@Rroff Do you have the same enthusiasm for forecasting summer weather as you do winter?

It snowed where i lived yesterday and was -7 last night. What is this "summer" you speak of??????

To be fair, the UK is on track to have vaccinations completed before the end of July 2021 but the rest of the world is a LONG way behind us. I'd even be surprised if the EU has offered a vaccine to all citizens before the close of 2021. That doesn't take into account the poorer countries like Africa, South America etc. I can easily see it being 18+months before the world is back to normal.

[Edit] Back to the topic in hand - snow today.

Thanks OP, you cursed us all with your premature summer-lation.

Note sure what the outrage is here. Sonny has got it bang on!

That, and he's funding endless Malaria research, trying to develop carbon capture technology, defeat global warming etc

Yeah but his endless research and work on polio is the key factor to him on this pandemic. He's been fighting polio now for a while and knows how hard it is to get vaccine to everywhere.

There's villages that lie on borders between states that always get missed out as the other state thinks the other should have done them.
