Stunning weather thsi weekend and with the unseasonal rain the last couple of weeks its looking really green instead of the usual brown. Pity the afternoon was filled with the stink of barbecues not lit properly.

Ceanothus? Need a close up really.

Yeah gorgeous plants they take a bit of a pasting in the freezing weather like last winter but they always come back

They'll take over the entire lawn if you let them til theres nothing but. Also your grass is in dire need of a cut much like my hair a couple weeks ago

Never got any notification for being mentioned in this thread weird just happened to see it now.

Summer I just take it as it comes - if I take much interest in it always seems to turn to weeks of rain anyhow :s

dunno we have never liked the neat bowling green look if its cut at the moment it will go brown in the dry spell ,that's what happened last year ,at the moment it collects a massive amount of dew ,even thinking about letting the bottom lawn go to meadow and chuck some wild flower seeds in.

Something I've become aware of in recent years in Hampshire is that the temps very quickly shift from ~12C max to ~20C max, there's very little of a transition phase going into summer where temps max out at ~15C.

It's easier said than done, but if you prefer to exercise outdoors in slightly cooler temps, it usually pays to get out and be done by ~1100. While temps drop during the evening daylight, they're usually warmer than the early morning.

Been ridiculously hot here (Somerset) today - unfortunately I've got to work this afternoon/evening so haven't had much chance to do anything with it :(

Officially 22 but feeling more like 25-27C.

Only 17c for me and a bit cold in the shade but cleaned the patio and patio furniture and now ready for the first BBQ of the year. Tennis later and some sunbathing tomorrow if it's nice, bring on the heat!

Finally getting warm - 25C here. Lovely! The whole week is looking in the low 20s, so very agreeable without needing the windows open at night.

Amazing weekend. Caught plenty of sun seeing friends from back home. Missed out on going to beach but thank goodness the hot temps have hit.

It's hotter than the sun!

Walked several miles around Southsea and old Portsmouth yesterday which was just brilliant, although the number of people all over the place seemed to be more than pre-covid times....

Summer sucks. Three months coming up of heatwaves, sweating, hayfever, wasps, sunlight ruining my tv watching. And chavs walking around without a shirt on.

*mumble* *grumble*

Looks prettier outside in the sunshine, though.
