Shweeeeeet. :D

NOT a van Persie replacement though one would hope. I will probably resort to drink if Wenger decides to put Podolski on the wing constantly and continue with a lone front man.

Podolski to Arsenal (£10.9m) finalised according to the Beeb.

Good stuff, decent player Podolski and at £10.9mill thats a bargain if he can score goals for us next season...hopefully in partnership with RVP.

Now hopefully we can bag Gotze and a few defenders as well during the summer.

Hopefully Wenger wont wait till the last min like last summer and make desperate signings lol.

Of course that's what he's going to do, he's not going to change the formation is he :p

I'm not sure about Podolski tbh, he seems to me a bit like Klose to me in that he always looks good for Germany in the International tournaments but his club record isn't great. He'll be 27 by the time next season starts as well.

I guess a lot depends on the price, if Arsenal are getting him for around 6m then I guess it's not a bad deal, gives the squad a bit of depth if nothing else.

If he plays on the right wing so that he can cut inside with the left then that would be alright by me. Walcott is a terrible footballer with a tiny brain, anybody would be an improvement over him. I know he's played on the left quite a bit for the German team, but I'd want him with his strong foot goal side, though he seems a bit like Quagliarella, able to score goals from ridiculous angles.

I still think he'd be more competent in the middle, as far as I know that's where he plays for Cologne and his record with them is fantastic. 19 starts this year, 1 sub appearance, 16 goals and 4 assists and that's with a team behind him that won't be as good at providing him with the number of goalscoring chances that he'd get at Arsenal.

I think he's just what we need, in that he's someone who can just hit the ball and it's in the back of the net, doesn't need to tap it in like 99% of the rest of our players, RVP being the exception. Oh, he can hit a mean free kick too! :D

4-4-2 would be ideal if we did buy him, for the flanks we still have Oxlade-Chamberlain, Gervinho, Miyaichi, Theo (eurgh), Podolski could play alongside RVP. Just a pipe dream though as you say Wenger almost certainly won't change the formation.

It's good to see Arsenal have learned from last summer; getting their replacements in early rather than leaving it until deadline day.

In other news, Robbie Fowler's supposed to have turned down a return to Blackpool after they offered him just £90 per week :D

Hope no Arsenal fans were just watching SSN just then, James Cooper talking with City fans out in Lisbon and they were all talking like Van Persie to City is a done deal :o

If they really want him (and Mancini said he does), they'll get him.

Podolski in? for 11m and 100k a week? rvp shoudl easily be offered 150k imo

So far thats the rumour that his wages would be around £100k a week but who really knows what the deal is. Some places say hes signed for £10mill then others are saying around £8mill etc.

But definitely we need to offer RVP around £150k a week if we have any chance of keeping him as City, greedy barstewards are hanging around like vultures and are tempting him with offers of £200k a week:rolleyes: **** off Mancini and stop trying to disrupt our players...u did it with Nasri and got away with it, this time i hope we tell you to **** off and stick your billions where the sun dont shine:p

Will be interesting to hear what DM has to say...no doubt he will have a moan about wages and transfer fees:p

Meh i saw it, doesnt bother me in the slightest...if RVP goes then i dont really blame him but i have a feeling that RVP will stay at Arsenal if we bag 3rd or 4th...not sure if he will stick around if we dont get those 2 positions though.

Saying that id hate to see him at City...when Nasri left i couldnt really care as hes shown hes not that great a player...should have stayed at Arsenal where he could have developed some more but his greediness for money meant he wanted out....fair play to the lad for getting his way but it showed that Arsenal didnt think too highly of him for us to keep him...we could have offered him £100k+ if we really wanted to but decided he wasnt worth that much.

RVP is another kettle of fish altogether...im hoping we break the bank and give him a huge wage rise as he definitely deserves it and if he does stay then it will be interesting to see how him, Podolski and Wilshere pair up next season.

Im looking forward to next year watching Arsenal. I did read on one site that regarding Podolski "money (and silverware) wasnt an issue" :(
I don't recall seeing a mention of silverware but he did state the next step in the development of his football was a bigger concern to him than money, which is admirable given the Russian Man City were supposedly in for him.
