In terms of the CB pecking order at the moment I'd place him quite a bit behind Rio, Vida, Evans & Smalling.

I know you didnt specify those in order, but even though Evans has done well this season for the most part, I would still put Smalling ahead of him at CB (unless CS is needed at RB of course)

I completely agree about Jones, definitely not a CB currently but deserves a place in the 1st XI on ability / energy etc

Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea and Tottenham have all contacted Lille to register an interest in signing playmaker Eden Hazard.

The Premier League quartet, along with clubs in Italy and Germany, are keen to sign the 21-year-old Belgian but none of them has made a formal offer.

French champions Lille are willing to let Hazard leave in the summer if they receive an acceptable bid.

**** off Man City.

Fingers crossed!

Only 1 reason I can see him picking City over Utd. Money.

It's play for one of the most prestigious clubs, with arguably the greatest manager of all time, in an arena that is known throughout the world.

Or for a team full of egos, with absolutely no prestige in world football, and who are being run for their money by a team that on paper is inferior.

I'd chose Arsenal and Tottenham before City for footballing ethics alone.

Didn't Hazard get less goals and assists than Gervinho playing for the same side when Lille won the title? Saying he's better than Nani already seems premature considering he plays in the French league where Joe Cole isn't even a terrible player...

*awaits people who watch Ligue 1 every weekend for their favourite 90 minutes of Eden*

I said at the time that Arsenal should of gotten Hazard instead of Gervinho.

Joe Cole is doing very well in France (had a stinker t'other weekend) but that's because he's got no football intelligence but quite a decent footballer.

Hazard is much better then Gervinho. Stats aren't everything, something that I pointed out previously but Arsenal fans said otherwise :)

"Dimitar could play tomorrow but I have good options with front players," stated Sir Alex. "His contract situation is we will be taking up the option on the contract but, having had chats with him, he wants to get first-team football and we need to consider that at the end of the season.

"At the moment, he remains at United. But I'd listen to what he says. I think he's concerned he isn't getting enough first-team football. It's difficult for me to guarantee that. At 31, you can understand he wants that. It may lead to him looking elsewhere."

Sounds as if the contract is being taken up so we can sell him on in the summer, hardly surprising but that's not leaps and bounds from confirmation that he'll be off.

that is a very bizarre statement from ferguson. he is essentially saying he knows what the player wants but he doesn't want to give it to him or can't give it to him? if that's the case, sell the poor bugger. i'd take him back at spurs, he's still got atleast 2 yrs of good form left in him.

what if he wants to be part of a successful club moving forward? utd are getting worse while city are getting better. *

it is a gamble whichever but forget the prestige factor- who has the best team and is more likely to win cups next year?

based on utd winning the league last season and getting to cl final. and city moving up from 4th to second.

We can only sell him by taking up the contract extension otherwise he walks away on a free. Seeing as the contract extension is something we just trigger we're not really doing anything to spite him especially if as Fergie says we'll listen to offers for him in the summer.

Utd should get £5m - 10m if they are lucky, cant see it being much more than that given how little he has played this season.

would he fit in the current 1st choice Spurs team currently, or alternate with VdV? Could work well with Saha (if LS can stay injury free of course), not so much so with Defoe imo (Defoe seems to work from deeper imo, nto that I watch him that much)

I would have thought he would head abroad - Im not sure if he would go much further down EPL than 6/7th, but not sure who would want him/need him that Utd would be willing to sell to (City, Liverpool definitely out then for one or both reasons lol)

Chelsea /Arsenal....hmm both could do with him but Spurs connection......

Adebayor has little reason to choose Spurs, he's on a miles better contract that Spurs can afford and so has little reason to leave City except for a similar wage. Likewise if City don't win the title and did crap in Europe/a.... Mancini might not be there next year, if he's not there Adebayor may aswell stick around another year see if another manager uses him.

Could be Mourinho goes to City and Ade likes playing under him, who knows. Berbatov is on a much lower wage than Ade and looks much more keen on football than wages.

he'd work well with Defoe, Ade(if it happened), Saha and would almost certainly be better than VDV in the withdrawn striker role. Spurs could probably pick him up cheap, on a reasonable contract and then have money for other improvements. Could be Berbatov goes to Russia for silly silly money, who knows. Considering his treatment, kidnap threats and family troubles in eastern Europe I wouldn't be very surprised to see him ignore huge money to live there and stay in the "big" leagues for "normal" money.

I'd hate for Berbatov to leave but who can blame him, he's been treated like an average 17 year old, not an experienced, world class striker.

Very strange.
