edit its quite amazing how short people's memories are, it needs to be stated that in only ONE season out of four (ok , ignoring this one as Berba hasnt been given the game time, so lets call it 3 seasons) has Berba had a "proven " goal scoring record at Utd. The other two he was utter dross for majority of the time - and even in his good season, there were many many games where he didnt show up /barely contributed etc etc - it also has to be said that the one blackburn game where he scored 5 on his own flatters his total for that season (and I think in three games he got 10 of his 20 goals)........how ever good his total was, that also shows the bad part to relying on Berba ......he worked BRILLIANTLY for Spurs alongside Keane, but for Utd it didnt really work

If you look at welbeck 3 of his goals came via an 8-2, 5-0 and a 3-0...

So actually if you remove those games because they were variable walk overs anyway it leaves him with just 3 goals...
 
Suppose you can use that agreement about Ronaldo's goal tally then, or say Messi's?

It doesn't stand up as an argument.

Berbatov, for whatever reason doesn't seem to have a place in the team this season so it makes you wonder if Sir Alex will ship him out in the summer and bring in a more dynamic or different player.

In the 3-0 v Tottenham Welbeck scored the first goal
In the 8-2 v Arsenal Welbeck scored the first goal
In the 5-0 v Fulham Welbeck scored the first goal

And why was my post deleted? Nickg needs to know he's talking rubbish otherwise he'll NEVER learn (not that I dont think we're well beyond trying to knowledge him)
 
This is why club threads/general discussion threads are neccessary, nobody is going to start a thread on Danny Welbeck so the discussion is not allowed and is never had.

Happens with loads of topics

I can't explain why, I just know that nobody will make a thread on Danny Welbeck/topic X and subsequently we won't discuss him. I personally don't make threads as I'm lazy and a bad forummer :cool:
 
Anyone know much about this Benjamin Corgne that Arsenal have been looking at from Dijon? There getting linked with Younès Belhanda. I really hope Bendtner does go to Anji too, or anyone for that matter.
 
I would respond directly to NickG myself in regards to the difference between Berba and Welbeck (in ref to what he said) - but I dont want to **** off Rotty even more , so going to let it lie :)
 
Apparently we've emerged as favourites to sign Edin Hazard, from the little I've seen of him Hazard is by far my preferred signing out of him and Gaitan. Of course Goetze tops both of them :cool:

On a serious note another winger isn't really what we need but I guess if genuine world class talents are out there and available we have to show an interest. Personally (and this is based solely off one game) I think Martinez & Herrera would be perfect for our needs at the moment.

EDIT: Oh and a cheeky 15m bid for Dembele :cool:

Hazard is silly good. I'd even say better than Goetze, but when you're at that level it's really down to personal preference.

Hazard is the player you need though imo. Can sit in midfield and control things, can break from deep with pace, can pick a pass through congested spaces. Basically he'd open up a crap load of options for Man Utd in midfield.

Dembele is one of my favourites too, hoping we'd be interested in him but I doubt it, wouldn't mind Hoilett though either (more likely as he's on a free!)
 
Hazard isn't a Winger, he primarily plays through the middle.

I don't think a 4-4-2 would accommodate him too well though. Hard to say.

I'd love him.
 
tbf he can play on the wing or in the middle. For Lille he just does whatever the hell he wants (a la Fabregas for us last season) as he's that good.
