wonder what input Moyes has had on any transfers we eventually make. Doubt he would go against what fergie says anyway! :D

Very little I would suspect, Fergie and Gill would have done the groundwork for a lot of the business we do (if any) this summer.

When the Strootman rumours where at their peak it was mentioned a couple of times Everton had looked closely at him as well

(Not that it really matters, but its fair to say that any player considered at OT to be worth looking at buying would probably be all right by Moyes anyway)

if hernandez wasn't always offside he would score so many more goals ,he has great awareness and movement to drift off defenders but not sure if he brings enough to the table for united

His off the ball work is why the rest of our players get so much space. He is offside a lot, but so are a lot of brilliant footballers. Andy Cole was offside a lot too and he's one of the best we've ever had.

when he is in the box for his tap ins :P , i am trying to think of the last time he scored outside of the box
Van Nistelrooy never scored from outside the box for us and he wasn't a bad footballer.

Thing is with hernandez he is very limited. yes he is fast and can tap some goals in.

Guess what, so is Neymar, except neymar has skill and can and also does score wondergoals.

Hernandez cannot be a first or second choice striker for UTD as he just doesnt offer enough on the ball. Supersub maybe to attack a stretched backline of the opposition, for anything else, there are better players who will contribute more and help to score more goals that way:/

What... have I just read?

More from Hunter (not about us this time though)

Guess he'll be replacing Nasri (serves the French little twit right for choosing the wrong Manchester club in the first place)

As a Man Utd fan, he chose the right club. Was desperate for us not to sign him at the time. Couldn't have dealt with Nasri AND Young.

Thiago agrees Man Utd move
Barcelona midfielder Thiago Alcantara has agreed a five-year deal with Manchester United. The Premier League champions are now looking to finalise a £17 million deal for the Spaniard.

I hope sky are wrong about the price or it includes his wages. £50m deal for Higuain.

£50m seems too cheap to include wages if he's on £130k per mon unless he has only signed for a couple of years lol

Manchester United close to signing Barcelona midfielder Thiago Alcantara in a deal worth £17 million

Manchester United are close to making Thiago Alcantara the first major signing of David Moyes’s reign at manager Old Trafford.

Despite efforts this week by Barcelona to persuade the Spain Under-21 captain to reject offers to leave the Nou Camp this summer, it is understood that the attacking midfielder – the son of Brazil World Cup winner Mazinho – is ready to move to United to secure regular first-team football.

United are prepared to trigger a £17 million release clause in the 22-year-old’s contract, which is now in play due to Thiago failing to make a required number of appearances for Barcelona last season owing to the presence of Xavi, Andrés Iniesta and Cesc Fabregas at the Spanish champions.

Thiago, who emerged as one of the stars of the recent European Under-21 Championship in Israel before scoring a hat-trick in Tuesday’s final against Italy, came close to signing for United two years ago before choosing to stay at Barcelona.

Bild in Germany have also said this morning that we're the frontrunner to sign Isco now as well...

I think they've got their Manchester clubs mixed up :p

Marca though have said Real are to have talks with Malaga over the weekend, given Marca are just Real Madrid's own personal Daily Fail it's probably just one last desperate attempt for headlines before the move to City finally goes through :(

In what world does someone compare Hernandez with Neymar? Only in Nick's world is the answer :o :o :o

Well they are both players who play up front. It doesn't matter that one was 55 million, you only have 11 first team places whether you pay 5p or 50 million you want the best player in each position right?

Neymar is like welbeck and Hernandez combined except much better. And instead of having to field two players to barca can just field one who is twice as good..?

Have we signed Higuain yet? No? :(

Not yet. We'll stew over the wages that Higuain wants and by the 31st August we'll offer half that and some other club will come in a sign him. The next day Wenger and Gazidis will come out and say that we tried our best to bring in real quality but there wasn't any available at market value. We will then parade the 3 signings we made at 23:59 on 31st August in a panic to sign people. One of these players will be an 18 year old from deepest darkest Congo Republic who has a great nature fitness and pace and will be converted to a winger/striker, another will be a 35 year old french defender from ligue 2 with no top flight experience and the other will be an unknown Israeli international who will have to start his national service at christmas. All three players will be signed up on 5 year contracts worth 100k per week.
