I'm not sure signing Fellaini would have been considered a coup. Signing any midfielder of any note would have been regarded as being long awaited though, due to the constant talk that Utd need a CM.

The difference now (as well as the obvious - Fellaini playing under Moyes at Everton) is that Fellaini is being seen as 3rd choice after you failed to sign Thiago and now seemingly Fabregas. Utd are settling on Fellaini because they couldn't get others - or that's how it'll look anyway.

Yeah, poor Fellaini. :(

Maybe he'll tell us to shove it.

He is a very, very different player to both Thiago and Fabregas so perhaps he has always been a target, along with a more creative midfielder.

I hope Fabregas has his little press conference today and says something of note.

Fabregas: I love it at Barcelona. This is the best team with the best players I have ever played with and I love every day of it. These are the happiest days of my life.

Utd: He didn't say he wasn't leaving!!!!!!

Moyes said at an earlier press conference he was after two different style-wise additions to the middle.

No issue with Fellaini at the right price and to bulk the squad.

Regardless of the different styles, were Utd going to spend £20m+ (which is what Fellaini will cost) on 2 CM's this summer? I'd be surprised.

:D:D

Send Suarez on loan to Napoli, he wants CL and he'll get it, at least he won't go to a PL rival.

LOL what makes you think that another European club would be interested in Suarez??. No other club want to even consider a bid for him because of his 'baggage' and his attitude.

Only Arsenal are crazy enough to even consider Suarez :p...hopefully Liverpool keep him so he can cause them more embarrassment on and off the field.

Well, let LFC pay his wages but send him off to Napoli as he clearly won't enjoy playing for LFC and there may be a backlash from the fans.

I'm not even sure why Arsenal bid, they probably bid fully knowing they won't get Suarez but just so Wenger can say something along the lines of "we tried but the other club wasn't happy with our bid" to please the fans.

They bid because Liverpool will sell to rivals for a price. ;)

Think Rodgers and the owners have handled this fantastically.

He still has a 6 game ban to serve - so the club won't be affected by him sulking and not performing at the start of the season. It also gives some breathing space to the whole saga.

I still think this has got Jan transfer to European club written all over it.

Perfect response from Rodgers, regarding agger it was mentioned by Rodgers that agger told him long as we want him we won't leave so I can't see him going

Their loss. Suarez wont apologise and you can keep him on the bench as it will be as good as not having him at all next season.

Then after the end of next season he will go for no more than 20m and Liverpool will lose out.

Either sell him now for a decent price of 40m or lose out on that profit.

Either way, You lose Suarez next season whether his sitting on the bench or playing in another red shirt with a different logo

To be fair I don't think he will sulk on the pitch. I would still play him, if his country make the world cup then he will want to be hitting the floor running. He might be a sulky little child off the pitch but I think (except the biting, diving, abuse to fellow players etc...:D) he will be professional

Although that added content doesnt make it seem I still think he will be playable :p
