Arsenal news, according to some deluded media we are bidding for Benzema...

Although a nice signing I dont think RM are going to consider getting rid of another striker. I swear the media dont even try...

Moyes said at an earlier press conference he was after two different style-wise additions to the middle.

No issue with Fellaini at the right price and to bulk the squad.

If that was true why wasn't the fellaini deal already done whilst we continue to negotiate the capture of fabregas? Why skip his entire pre season at United only to sign him at thr death knell? Makes no sense.

Their loss. Suarez wont apologise and you can keep him on the bench as it will be as good as not having him at all next season.

Then after the end of next season he will go for no more than 20m and Liverpool will lose out.

Either sell him now for a decent price of 40m or lose out on that profit.

Either way, You lose Suarez next season whether his sitting on the bench or playing in another red shirt with a different logo

Or...and more likely...

He stays, sulks for the first few weeks (banned anyway so who cares), talks with the manager and starts performing so that:

A. This puts him right in the spotlight for Uruguay and their World Cup challenge.
B. He becomes 'the' big signing for the Jan transfer window for 'any' top European club (sit down Arsene) looking for a proven goal scorer that isn't euro cup tied.

Regardless of the different styles, were Utd going to spend £20m+ (which is what Fellaini will cost) on 2 CM's this summer? I'd be surprised.

I presume you mean £20m+ each on two midfielders

to be fair, there are too many warming the bench that need shipping out (either on loan, or sold completely) and with Fletcher's illness still continueing, its silly to include him in the playing squad upto Xmas at the very least (I know some in here would like to see the back of him completely, but imo I think the club should stand by him, but offer him an off-field position once he gets better)

Since last season without having any real effect on the 1st team, Utd could "lose", Scholes (to retirement), Anderson and Fletcher without even thinking to Giggs (who might get a few games as a player/coach but shouldn't be relied on for a massive influence on the season onfield).

Personally Im more than happy to give Powell, Petrucci and Lingard try outs as subs early in the season to see how they go, but two more senior /more experienced players would improve the squad immeasurably.

On top of that the new manager, and very rarely does a new manager come in to a top club and not sign anyone at all (or at least have new signings to the club, even if he didn't chose /sign them himself). Admittedly this is an unusual situation with the last manager retiring rather than being fired, but even so.

Even without selling (and I HOPE Utd DO get rid of some of the chaff), there is Scholes's squad place to fill at the very least.

Just because the CM positions have been a blindspot to Fergie for a number of years, it doesn't automatically mean they will continue to be.

To be fair, he could sit on the bench all season and still get into the Uruguay team. It's not like they have many other good strikers other than Cavani and Forlan.

Lopez & Rolan are both pretty handy (under 21's) Lopez looks good & could take a place at the WC squad (if they make it). Besides, 'if' BR is serious and he doesn't apologize he stays on an individual training program and isn't getting games he will hardly be match fit and Uruguay's qualification bid suffers ;)

Still don't think Real can afford the deal Tottenham want. There is no way Levy will sell unless we are getting a huge amount of the money up front, which means these signings are probably more of a way of showing intent to Bale, rather than replacing him.

If we went out and signed a properly good winger however, I'd be worried.
