More Sheffield Wednesday news :D;

Sheffield Wednesday sign Sampdoria's Andelko Savic.

Sheffield Wednesday have signed Sampdoria striker Andelko Savic on a season-long loan deal.

The 20-year-old, who is a Switzerland Under-21 international, made his debut for the Serie A side in January.

Boss Dave Jones told BBC Radio Sheffield: "He's a young kid with good ability and he just needs to play games and get to know the English way.

"We've got a chance to take him on a permanent deal at the end of the season and there's a price agreed on that."

Jones added: "I'm not looking at him to be ready now. We'll give him a few weeks to settle in and let him find his feet but we've liked what we've seen so far.

"We think we might have a really good player on our hands. People say we're concentrating on young players but it's part of my job to do that."

Can't see Rooney playing for Spurs. In no way are we going to pay for his wages for a start.

But my god imagine this.

-----------Lloris-----------
Walker-Vertonghen-Kaboul-Rose
---Paulinho-Capoue-Sandro---
-----Lamela-----Rooney-----
----------Soldado---------
I think he'd play for Spurs but he'd have to take a price cut in wages, maybe Levy would offer something like £120k per week. If its true he wants to leave Manchester then I don't think he cares about winning trophies anymore.

It fits with the rumour that Ronaldo wants to come back if United buy better players and maybe Woodward has come to his sense and decided to buy Bale.

The other European club seems to be PSG.

No idea but Gazidis did say that we could pay £30mill and pay the player £200k a week if need be but who knows if that is true or not. With Wenger in charge, i cant see us paying £200k for a player whether it be Rooney or someone else.

Di Maria yep seems positive but honestly we dont need him or Cabaye in all honesty. We should be strengthening in the areas we need to ie striker/forward, DM, CB and maybe a GK although Chessers has been pretty solid in our last 2 games, Fenerbache and Fulham. But still i wouldnt seeing Cesar come in to give him and Fabianski some proper competition in the squad...even Begovic would be a good signing GK wise.

Yea Im puzzled by Di Maria... when I just read he is actually a right winger, which is the position where we are strongest at the moment with Walcott. I was hoping Di Maria was a left winger...

Also Cabaye, I think he is the DM we are looking to sign.

I dont like it when we play Carzola on the wing! He is a creative CM and a bloody good one at that. It's a waste to play such a good player on the wing.

£50m and Rooney for Bale would be a good deal. Not only would it **** Chelsea off but Rooney is a 20+ goal scorer, he'd replace Bale.
Spurs get money and a decent player and United get stronger on the wings.

rooney would bang them in for spurs and provide much needed service to soldado. sig needs to go imo, he's not got a defined position and we should replace him. rooney will never be a spurs player.

Messi would bang them in for Liverpool and be a great fit and spark the whole team.

If the Spurs here can talk ******* about signings that woill never happen so can I ;)

i think you'll find that i and other spurs fans don't believe he would ever come to spurs. is there a rumour of messi to liverpool then? if you look back a few pages, things may become clear as to why rooney is being mentioned.

Has he ever been given a fair crack? He's awesome on Football Manager!

it's not his fault, he just doesn't suit our system. he's a decent player i'm sure but he's had enough chances to make the role his and he hasn't. on thursday night, every time he got the ball, play broke down and that was against sub par opposition.

if we get service into soldado, he'll convert or get a shot on target. we hardly did that yesterday (though tbf, sig only came on as a sub so it's not really a criticism of him on this occassion) but it's so obvious we need a number 10.

townsend was good again but i'm still not convinced and i'm not sold on chadli either, both wide players and i don't think AVB wants to play that way all the time and we'd be better suited to building an attack around the box as opposed to whipping in a cross to a lone striker.

If you know he will never come, why bother talking about him? you that bored??

Cabaye is too similar to Arteta. What you really need (and what I assume Yas has in mind) is a proper Viera-esque midfield enforcer.

So leave Cabaye alone!

Yep definitely need a Viera-esque type of DM. I was under the impression that Cabaye is more attack minded if anything. This is why i dont think we need someone like him as we are packed and same with Di Maria. Benzema and/or Rooney is the type of players we should be looking at seriously. Also i feel we missed a huge opportunity to sign Gustavo from Bayern, he would have been a good DM and hes young as well..

Anyway, what do Arsenal need a new Striker for? We already have the self professed best striker in the world in Bentner!!

LOL :D, looks like Palace might be interested in him from what SSN were earlier saying. If he doesnt go then perhaps Wenger should give him one final shot in the team ie if we dont sign anyone in the striker/forward position that is. Who knows maybe he will come good finally and become that best striker in the world:D

No I think AW should definitely let the best striker in the world move to Palace. They'll be over the moon at that coup.

Well he was meant to be buggering off to Stuttgart irrc or some other german team and it was more or less set until he decided to be greedy and want more money.

So for him to go, its not really down to Wenger...hes willing to offload him as it is but its Bender thats the one that isnt willing to cut his wage demands so i dont think he will go Palace the greedy so and so:p. But if he does then good riddance to him.
