avb looks kinda silly after saying how much he wasn't for sale imo , but how bale is worth more than ronaldo and x4 than RVP etc is beyond me

I disagree there. Spurs have bought 1st so teams don't hike the prices knowing that spurs have £80mil in the bank. So saying that he wasn't leaving was silly is wrong.

Everyone has known he is off. Its not like they got soldado cheap, they paid what Valencia wanted. Paulinho was bought for the 'right' price. Spurs haven't pulled off a master stoke, they have just sold their best player and they haven't replaced him.

Bale is pretty irreplaceable (irrespective of the price paid for him) for Spurs , with no CL to offer as yet. So they were never going to get like for like. They have done a very good job of spending where they need to although it still has to be seen whether they will gel into one decent team

Imagine watching RM vs BM now. Bale/Ronaldo vs Ribery/Robben.

Is Ribery that good? Ive certainly never thought so.

Robben is a really decent player to have on his day ( he used to have a number of off days, but this might have lessened since at BM)

I dissagree, from what Ive seen (admittidly only highlights) they have exactly the same problem as last year. Lack of creativity without bale last season, exactly the same this year. Lamela is a goal scorer not a creator. The signings they have made haven't addresses that issue. Willian looked as if he was being bought to solve that problem, but as he only came onto the market unexpectedly are they looking at 'the issue' of no bale?

From SSN:

Breaking news: Sky Sources understands Tottenham are considering offers for Gareth Bale from more than one club and insist they have yet to agree a deal with Real Madrid.

Bale to Utd it is

It was about time we stole another Tottenham star player

Tbf the last player you did steal didnt exactly work out did it??:p

Looks like Bale is coming back to the UK today.

As for Arsenal, no chance of signing Benzema and Di Maria is dependant on Bale i think. Tbh Arsenal dont need another winger, which is what Di Maria is and as much a decent player he is...hes not exactly what we need. Need a striker/forward, CB and a DM at minimum.

Would you guys say AVB is "smarting" having missed out on getting Willian? I feel like I've read about half a dozen articles now relating to the topic and everyone of these journalists seems to have opened their thesaurus at the same page.

From all the interviews I've seen, he doesn't seem to be upset about it at all. Maybe I'm just reading him wrong.

On another note, can't see Hulk coming to Spurs unless Adebayor goes. I don't think we have space for 4 senior strikers and a more youthful one in Kane. I only say this because I think Spurs are likely to be playing a 4-3-3 set up most of the season and with that set up you only really need one striker up there with a couple of very capable wingers.

Hulk is most effective cutting in from the right with that sledgehammer he calls a left foot. I doubt he'd be used as a main striker.

Still, I agree they don't need him.

Already?

Manchester United's new £15m signing Wilfried Zaha is apparently already fed up with life in the city, tweeting: "Rather bored. Any serious suggestions of what to do in Manchester?" His tweet was soon deleted. (the Sun)

So this other rumoured club is supposed to be utd, offering 60m + Rooney :o

Make the deal, give Rooney to Chelsea for Mata and bring in Lamella and Hulk

Lamella, Hulk and Mata for Bale ?

This is ofcourse, pure speculation.

Bidding War! Bidding War! Bidding War! Bidding War!

But yeah, Lamella, Hulk and Mata for the price of one Bale would be nice.

the other club is apparently man utd. not sure on the offer but £60m + rooney would be a believable guess.

utterly bonkers though. what the heck is moyes and woodward playing at if it is indeed true.

rooney would never come to us and we wouldn't pay his wages. united have had weeks to make an offer and bale has his heart set on madrid and has clearly had his head turned ever since modric game him a madrid shirt after the international game.

i doubt very much we'd sell to another pl club and i doubt even more that bale would want to go to another pl club. be it united or not.
