I found it amusing seeing who had posted in this thread to find Yas786 had posted 622 times yet Arsenal have signed no one of any note :D

Hahahaha

edit: Tonight's papers are reporting the Ilori & Sakho deals. £7m for Ilori and £18m for Sakho. I know Sakho is/was meant to be the next big thing but that's a big fee for a lad that's not starting regularly for PSG and with just a year on his deal. That said, I doubt his contract situation mattered too much - if there's a club that could afford to let a player run down his contract, it's PSG.

Manchester United prepare £40m double swoop for Bilbao's Ander Herrera and Roma's Daniele De Rossi

Manchester United are expected to trigger a €36 million (£30.7 million) release clause in Ander Herrera’s Athletic Bilbao contract after having a €30 million bid rejected for the playmaker identified by David Moyes as an alternative to Cesc Fabregas.

After seeing two bids for Fabregas rejected by Barcelona, following an aborted move for Spain Under-21 captain Thiago Alcantara earlier this summer, Moyes is now attempting to add three midfielders to his squad before Monday’s 11pm transfer deadline.

Yeah Tony B is running with it too, 18million is a hella lot of cash for someone in their final year. He's supposed to be a bit of a monster so we'll see how he turns out.

Telegraph are reporting £15m, BBC £13m and the Echo say £12m. Hopefully the £18m figure is the top end figure once all add-ons are paid (if theconditions are met).

telegraph confirm we're confident on Given & Moses too :)

Given seems a given, Villa want him off the wage bill and we want/need a back-up keeper. The Echo are reporting that Given's arrival won't effect Jones which I can only assume means we can't give him away.

Reportedly Chelsea aren't keen on giving us Moses but he wants the move and we're willing to pay a loan fee + all his wages, something I assume others won't do.

Jose seems to have got the message, after his 'I won't talk about Wayne Rooney' & proceeding to then nosh/gobble Wayne Rooney off at the same time in press conferences routine:

And Mourinho, it seems, has given up once and for all on signing Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney.

"For all parties it's finished. It's his life and we must respect the decision," said the Portuguese.

I think the Rooney deal was off the minute they signed Eto'o.

With Mata not playing tonight you unfortunately have to question his future which seems insane.

Hopefully Bender will be snapped by Palace but i have a feeling his wage demands will cause Palace to say thanks but absolutely no thanks. If i was a manager, id pay him a max of £20k a week...more than enough to live in London:p

It was a genuine question I have a particular dislike for Leeds but I have very good reasons relating to when they were flying high my local was rammed with Leeds "fans" ramming it down peoples throats and now they are nowhere to be seen.

I was just interested why the dislike Spurs used to be/Still are quite a few peoples second team
Looks like a bitter Leeds fan, seeing a team trying to do what they did.... except with a sustainable economic strategy attached? :D
