Michael Bridges. Debut Hat Trick. Fired us to Europe in two consecutive seasons.
Played 10 games over the next four years after some horrific injuries and never did anything of note again.
Speed, Strachan, Batty, Champman, Dorigo, Sterland, Wallace, Fairclough... we have to know!
Always felt bad for Whelan when he thought we were bringing him home, and we signed his team mate Huckerby.

Change of manager and a big overhaul of the squad goes some way to rectifying mistakes of the past but they may suffer from the City syndrome where there are too many changes too fast.
I read the first half of your post and was already preparing a "he's full of ****" reply in my head. The second half of your post was better than what I could have come up with.

Yes they blip once they start thinking above their station.... possible title challengers, CL run, UEFA cup winners, etc.
Just need to concentrate on what they really want and it will happen, no doubt about it. I do fear AVB might go all out in every cup though....
