The whole point Trusty is that Kronke could have taken every single penny of the 150mil on the books in Arsenal's named bank accounts at any time he wanted COMPLETELY LEGALLY, and what you are suggesting is instead he's filtering off miniscule amounts COMPLETELY ILLEGALLY which could land him in jail. Which makes perfect sense doesn't it.......

Owners looking to take money from a club do not sell 100mil of players and plough that money straight back into player purchases.

This is not a club making 50mil profit a year, this is a club spending the majority of what it gets, spending heavily in wages, spending in the transfer market when we sell big players. The club spends what it brings in, and has little to no success.

Again I've pointed out, if we were spending at Spurs level and getting 5th every year Arsenal would be a significantly MORE profitable club, more money for the board to apparently steal(despite being... their money) from the club, but they don't.

Just because Arsenal can't afford 200mil a year in wages(neither can Utd, Chelsea or City btw) doesn't mean we can't use what we are spending better. Diaby has received above 15mil in his time at Arsenal, to play a handful of games, most not very well. That is pure waste, and there are countless players Wenger has wasted money on.

Wenger say Gervinho and thought he was worth 14mil and 3mil a year... he was wrong, he thinks Diaby is useful to the club, he's wrong, he thought Arshavin was worth 15mil and 5mil a year and decided not to use him for 2 years, he saw Squillaci and thought great defender, he sticks by Sagna despite him being terrible, he bought Santos, he pushed Pires, Reyes, Gilberto out of the club for replacements he thought were significantly better, he was wrong.

The board are irrelevant, if we had 50mil or 500mil, Wenger is spending what he gets poorly, he's unable to organise a defence in the past 8 years, we have zero actual tactics, we can't win big games, we can't manage a cup run(while teams on 30mil wage budgets CAN).

The money is ONE issue, everything directly under the influence of the manager is all being done poorly. Wenger IS to blame, it's really that simple. The board is not responsible for Wenger's choice to play a injury carrying Fabregas against a truly physical Stoke a week before the only final we'd gotten to in 5 years..... Wenger did that.
Wenger isn't doing jobs that are unquestionably under his control(tactics, team choice, choosing players to buy/sell, how we spend the budget he is given) well enough, many other teams with FAR smaller budgets have won things in the past 8 years, NO other team spending as much as we do has won nothing in the past 8 years..... finances are therefore not the issue.

Have Arsenal outspent city/chelsea/utd in the last 10 years? Simple yes or no will do.

You always bring up these little arguments of yours. Fabregas shouldn't have played, this that and the other. Obviously people never make mistakes do they??

Which cup do you want to win so badly as well? FA cup? League cup?

You say people are jumping on things, do you think the way we've handled this transfer window is good? We look like a sunday league team, not the premier league champions. Everyone around us is picking up players from all over the world while we're making stupid bids for players that are never going to want to move or struggling to buy players from mid table teams that no-one else is even going for! Unless something really surprising happens anyone that comes in now is going to be desperation (either the players or the amount we pay)

Hence a £50m bid for Everton duo on Sunday lol

Madrid have offered us Contrao (sp?) for €20m, and I think he would offer Evra competition while not putting him completely out of joint ( if he isnt already with the Baines talk).
( I dont dispute its the wrong area of the pitch but it would strengthen the squad)

Totally agree with your general comments

I meant if we won't meet the clause rather than him wanting or not wanting to move.

But as has been said by a lot of people, it's not quite as simple as meeting the clause. There's all the other tax **** that usually gets discussed, the discussion of the fact that it's only 'Spanish clubs that use the buy out clauses with each other' etc.

A lot of journalists have been saying it's more complex a deal than it seems and that Bilbao don't need the cash and the player not really wanting to move. But I'm sure there will be selective reading applied and people jump to the end anyway.

I've made my comments on the squad discussion and who we have been trying to buy before in a conversation with Tummy, I'm not bothered enough to post a long thing again about it.

At the end of the day I'll still get behind the team and support them week in week out and not become as miserable as most (DM) Arsenal fans in my daily life.

There is no way the tax alone on the transfer fee would be 80%

Not sure where on earth you got 80% from when it's from €36million up to €55million...

Madrid have offered us Contrao (sp?) for €20m

Sorry I was a whopping 14 % out, its only a 66% increase.
Still a valid point, the tax wouldnt be that high a %

Frank, I think you need to check your maths again.

€36million to €56million is roughly a 52% - 53% increase, which is what has been quoted by several journalists today as what is being reported as the whole 'tax stuff'.

So no, you weren't a 'whopping 14% out'.

(80% would make it nearly €65million by the way)

Coentrao rumoured to be Moyes target if we don't get Baines but he's also rumoured to be a part of a deal for Bale.

Earlier in the Bale talks it was rumoured that Levy had rejected this player ( maybe it was just the amount RM thought he was worth, but numerous articles semed to imply it wss an outright rejection)

We will all get behind the team as I'm sure all the fans will but that doesn't make the blindest bit of difference in our views of the transfer window. It has been a complete shambles by anyones standards. Its been worse than Arsenals thus far which is saying something.

I don't know about you but part of being a fan to me is wanting the team to do as well as possible every year. Its not taking a superior position and looking down on the fans who want us to improve the squad. We have plenty of money to spend and there are plenty of quality players out there. As PL champions we are in a stronger position than we are likely to be next summer so I would rather not wait to see what happens.

We are not in trouble by any means but why wouldn't you be annoyed at watching all our rivals strengthen while we don't?

Bilbao has built a new stadium so don't see them lowering their price to much.

They are a really well run side by all accounts and its nice to see them doing so well. They do lose their best players every few years but they are still half handy.

Aren't they the xenophobes that only play basque players?

What's Levy expecting? £70m and Ozil? If Levy is willing to accept the rumoured £70m+, he might as well have accepted Coentrao now. He'd be an upgrade to BAE and Rose.

Lol...mate mate mate. Of course they filter money off. He's in it to profiteer. How do you think he's worth what he is, he has very good accountants.

No, he hasn't filtered money out of Arsenal. Arsenal's finances are independently audited to stop people doing this sort of thing. He can't just take money out of the club simply because it's not his money - it's the club's money which he is a shareholder (with approximately 67% of the shares).

He could charge expenses and even take a salary but not unreasonable amounts and the figures will included in the accounts. I haven't checked but I don't believe he's taken either but even if he did, it wouldn't be much and certainly not the 10's of £m's that you're suggesting.
