They follow the Manchester clubs so should been the most reliable when it comes to City and Utd.

Aye, they are the two I usually look out for as to whats hot and whats not.

Moyes and his love for Fellaini is growing tiresome...

Ozil would have been a superb option

Whilst Ozil is certainly a good player, he doesn't solve the issue that we have and we're also very stocked in the positions he plays.

If Nani or Rooney had been leaving the club, then it would make sense, otherwise not so much.

What happened to Nani and Juve? I thought some bookies paid out on it? Gone cold?

I agree with you, but I just think snubbing players like him to sign Fellaini is a bad move, I really can't see him adding anything worthwhile to our team. Maybe some height as mentioned above

He will allow Carrick to dictate play by cleaning up around him, which Cleverly simply cant do.

He will also be a threat from corners and freekicks and when you have Rooney and RVP taking them that is always a good option.

He will be a physical presence in the box for defending.

He isn't the worst option, I just wish we werent paying as much as mentioned.

Fellaini will add some steel to our midfield and give us a bit more height in the box / a target man when we need one. There is no reason to think he can't get better at United either. He is only 24 isn't he.

As long as we don't pay much more than the £24m going around today I will be happy. That is as long as we manage to get a player like Herrera in too.

The Juve president himself said they weren't negotiating for Nani as he'd renewed his contract with us, there's been no word from the club though.

Fellaini and Ozil don't really play in the same positions and there's no suggestion that it's a case of either or, it seems we turned down Ozil near the start of the window anyway.

It's not a case of 'we didn't want Ozil but we signed Fellaini instead' when they aren't the same type of player.

There aren't many clubs who need Ozil right now, but if he's available and willing to join your club you surely have to get him.

Would Ozil slot straight into the United first team? Yes. That's surely reason enough to buy him, whether we have players in that position or not. There isn't anyone at our club better or as good as him (not even close if you look at the stats).

He'd be a vanity buy, but he'd undeniably make us better, surely that's the reason for buying a player.

Would be disappointed if we've had the chance to sign Fellaini and Ozil, and we only end up with Fellaini.

Agreed.

I know they don't play the same position, but it just strikes me that we're in for Fellaini and because of that, we turned down Ozil and can't really afford the fee on top of Fellaini as well. In short, all I was getting at was saying that I feel Ozil would be a much more successful addition to our midfield than Fellaini would

Where has it been suggested, by anyone, that we can't afford him because of Fellaini? Or in fact not at all? That's just ammo that people like to sling when it suits them about no money etc.

If we buy Ozil, we still have to buy a central midfielder. Yes, he's a quality player, but as I said yesterday - Potato Head still has to play somewhere and as it is Shinji (the exact same type of quality player) is sat on his arse at the minute for whatever reason.

Bucket, y u do dis? It's like you think I'm arguing with you! :p

I'm not saying that was suggested! I said it feels like that!

I understand where you are coming from but we have Rooney and Kagawa for the position Ozil would work best so it doesn't make sense to have all three or play one of them out of position.

We would still have the issue further back in the midfield which then makes it harder for those players to do their work higher up the pitch. This has been our problem for a few seasons now. Even when we get a player to fill a hole in the team, they are never as effective as they could be because there is a missing link behind them.

If RvP had better service last season he would have scored tonnes more than he did. He is brilliant and scoring goals that 90% of attackers wouldn't but imagine how good he would be with better service.

If Moyes won't even put Kagawa on the bench why would anybody think he'd be willing to pay £40m on Ozil?

edit: If Utd sign Herrera and Fellaini, I'm telling you now that Fellaini will end up playing behind RvP.

Is right. There is no way Moyes will play him in his preferred holding midfield role.
