Realistically that starting 11 should be starting against the top teams so it should give Moyes time to get his act together. Rooney wouldn't really be played as a left winger.

Buttner, Jones and Smalling could replace Rio, Vidic and Evra in the games against the lower league table teams.

A small knock to Giroud or a suspension and you're now left with Bentdner up front.

I'd be happy for Walcott to play up front. Also Everyone knows there is Sanogo, and Akpom is also looking like he would handle the odd chance in the team pretty soon.

I know it's youngsters, but I still don't think it's as terrible as people are saying. I believe the squad as a whole is higher quality than it was this time last season, which is the important thing.

Ask any Everton fan that's seen a lot of him. The two I know thought he'd had a shocker when he was played there (so all two of them then).

So he thinks it's best position and where he would prefer to play but lets go with what two fans say :)

He can play up front on his own very well if given the chance, its his preferred position from what he has said in the past. Last year he played up front for a few games and scored goals...actually it was round about the time when he was wanting higher wages iirc...he banged in a few goals and voila we gave him a new contract with higher wages:p then he moved back to right wing and didnt score many goals lol.

I think you'll find he started playing as a striker against Wigan and the experiment was done by the City drubbing. We were woeful against Southampton, woeful against Wigan, absymal against City, and conceded 3 against Newcastle.

In the games building up to the Wigan game we had 53% of the possession and 10 shots against Swansea(but they overall outplayed us and won), 59% of the possession and 19 shots against West brom.

Wigan with Walcott leading the line 50% 11 shots, won with a soft penalty from a flop from Walcott, he was abysmal throughout. We had 44% of the possession against a crap Newcastle at home and only secured the win and completely dominated them after Giroud came on. 56% possession but only 6 shots against Southampton, we scored via an own goal. 40% possession AT HOME against City, 9 shots, 3 on target, lost 2-0 and that was because Vermaelen had the game of his life.

In the games directly after pushing Walcott back out wide we got 55% possession 25 shots and won against Swansea, we had 50% possession and Walcott got a goal away at Chelsea and 69% possession and a 5-1 win against West Ham.

Arsenal were categorically awful with Walcott upfront, we lost possession, he doesn't work hard, he links up well with no one. We scored less, held possession FAR worse, created far fewer chances and looked awful doing it.

Walcott may PREFER that role, but he also said that for 5 years while never playing that role... he's completely rubbish as a lone striker and I have no idea why anyone believed he wouldn't be.

Something you and Wenger agree on then, he's a winger.

No, but previously you've had the best manager.

A valid point but until he has had a go at it, none of us know what will happen, there is a lot of speculation in here without anything to go off.

We've played 3 games, Swansea away which was tough on paper, Chelsea at home which was a better result than last season and Liverpool away where we are always dire and sometimes snatch a result.

Lets see how it all is at the end of the season before we all condemn United again :)

liverpool will win this year anyway

Momo Sissoko out of contract at PSG and able to sign for a club outside the transfer window. I'd take him, even if he still is blind in one eye.

We've been interested apparently. I was pretty annoyed when he decided to go to you, then it turned out he wasn't that great!

It's his preferred position, but Moyes never played him there and when he did it wasn't for long. Last week against Cardiff was the first time that I can remember that he spent the whole match playing as the deepest midfielder, but it was annoying because we really needed him up front to do something 'cause Kone and Jelavic were ****!

I don't think Moyes will play him there though because he does have his faults, he seems to shy away from a tackle, watch our first match against Norwich for a prime example when Whittaker scores, he doesn't like to track players and he regularly gets in a huff if something doesn't go his way.
