Benitez was the first one to do it regularly in England. He was slaughtered by the morons on Sky for it though.
Ozil is used to drifting out wide as Di Maria and Ronaldo both liked cutting inside all the time - so I think we'll see him and Cazorla switching positions quite a lot as they're both comfortable doing that. This article was published before the transfer but it gives you a good idea of how he'll fit in.
It's amazing! He seems to be an actual football fan, so it's looking good! But I'm not letting myself get too excited just yet. The club have said though that it is in the contract that the first priority is the first team, but we shall see.
The future looks good!![]()
is there anything substantial to the Momo stuff or just wishful thinking?
Great article. I loved how we countered against the Spurs on Sunday, just a shame we couldnt score a few more goals.
Im really looking forward to Ozil pulling on an Arsenal top and getting out there to show us what he is capable because lets be fair, the La Liga is hardly the PL these days. But i can see him being a huge hit with his assists, again our front men need to put their scoring boots on to latch onto those passes and score. Had we got Higuain earlier this summer, then it would have been goals galore i imagine. With Carzola, Wilshere and Ozil supplying the passes, Higuain would have flourished at Arsenal.
At least we have got a proper world class player in, ok he isnt exactly what we need but more quality in our squad is not a bad thing. Hopefully this kickstarts us for the future in that we keep adding world class players to the squad if needed. Still think we missed a trick in getting Demba Ba on loan though but im willing to give it till Jan to see how we do and if we struggle to score with Ozil around then we definitely need to get a striker/forward in. Fingers crossed that maybe come Jan we can get rid of Bender, guess Palace walked away because he wanted too much money for wages :/.
Given we were clearly looking for a striker on a loan deal and didn't get one, it's entirely possible we will have to get Bendtner playing again, and it's possibly why he didn't get anywhere with a move.
Also as regards to some of the posts why he 'only' chose Arsenal, it's not entirely down to money as he apparently was offered more £ by PSG for a move but turned it down - Wenger talked to him several times and made him feel wanted/valuable, plus Mertesacker sang our praises apparently. Ozil has basically said he intended to stay at Madrid but very recently it become clear he didn't feel valued or wanted by the manager or board; they were willing to sell him and we wanted to buy. Job done.
Obviously in terms of signings it's not what we needed as a priority, but as a general upgrade it's considerable and we'd be hard pressed to get anyone better.
Good grief, didn't realise the EPL was so high! Shows you how poor the rest of the clubs in the other top leagues are though.

Wonder how much you bid?? lol...Sneijder is pretty decent although to be fair i havent seen much of him lately...hes getting on a bit but would have added much needed quality in your midfield.
Like i said a few pages back Robbo, losing both Fergie and Gill is costing you players in the transfer window imho. You guys would do your business at the start of the window then chill for the rest of the summer whilst Arsenal and other clubs would be panicking on who to buy![]()
EPL spending is spread out around a lot more of the teams though. La Liga will be dominated by the top few teams.
I'm sure we'll have something sorted out for next summer, or perhaps January. A total rethink of our approach is needed.
