I think you need to realise that the calamity twins are semi permanently injured and are too small and unfancied to hold down regular roles in our team.

Evra is a tough cookie he plays nearly 50 games a season for like 6 years running. He got hobbled at Liverpool at weekend and then a min later picks up the ball and goes on a mazy run straight through some Liverpool players.

Buttner is not good enough and doesn't look like he ever will be. Shamis assessment of him is pretty accurate. Even when we bought him a few people who watched the dutch league said he wasn't in the top 5 left backs in the league which is saying something.

Behave.

Rafael should have been young player of the season last season and was rock solid at RB and will be again as soon as he is over the injury he picked up in the community shield.

Problem here is:

Carzola is waisted as a winger. He is not naturally that kind of player. He doesn't posses pace to bit people out wide but most importantly he is too good a cm to play wide.

Second problem. Our cm is too light weight and small physically. We have no natural DM in there which is a problem.

Who do we play up front to rest/rotate giroud?

And Ramsay vs Arteta. Ramsay is on form now but better than Arteta?

Gibbs vs Montreal? I think when Montreal is fit he will start.

I admit haven't seen ozil play much , but all the state and media in the news make him sound like a very special player. Worthy of a high transfer fee.

Reports tho that there is a clause in his contract that says he is free to go if Arsenal don't make Champ league.

During the unbeaten run towards the end of the season, Cazorla flourished on the left. Plus, like some others have said, I expect a lot of interchange between him and Özil.

I put Ramsey in there as he's the current holder of the position with Arteta injured. Obviously if it's a big CL game, or a top 4 clash in the PL, Arteta/Flamini will probably play to sure up the midfield.

The formation I posted is who I think will play in Arsenal's next match.

At least we know Coentrao was willing to come to United, Moyes better get him in January as Evra isn't that good at defending anymore. Fabio and Buttner don't look that good.

NickG you are mental.

Rafael last season made 38 starting appearances and two from the bench. That's 40 appearances.

He was only behind Van Persie, Carrick, Evra and De Gea for most appearances. Now he's got injured at the start of the season and he's a sick note again.

Utterly nuts.

Cazorla is not a natural winger indeed, but when Arsenal attack, you may see that team shift quickly into something like this, with one of the midfielders staying behind and Gibbs bursting into the natural left wing space, similar to what he does now. Also Ozil may shift slightly right as well. I've seen him do a hell of a lot of damage for RM in that just right of centre AM position.

This system is good for Gibbs, but I would be worried about Sagna's pace in getting back quickly. Gibbs has no problem in that department. Although if Walcott stays there, Sagna does not have to push up so far.

In some games, I feel it may be impossible to play Cazorla and Ozil together. One of them will have to be sacrificed to steel up the midfield. Will probably be Cazorla, but as we all know, Ozil can struggle with 90 mins, so Cazorla could be a great late sub in those situations. We now have the advantage though that if Ozil has to come off. Santi can seamlessly take up his position with a choice of either Pod or Ox taking up the left wing.

Yeah, Cazorla has played left wing for years, I prefer him in the middle, but now we have Ozil we have options, both can play in both positions. The beauty of Cazorla (arguably Sagna too) is he's probably our only player who is truly versatile, both footed, intelligent and technical, he could play almost anywhere and do well, he's just quality. The people who are saying he isn't a natural LW didn't see him much for Villareal and sometimes Malaga! Or indeed last year when he played there and was very good.

I find it bizzarre Arsenal fans are all booting Podolski out of your team, despite him bagging goals already in the season...

Wilshere is a sick note, so he shouldn't be anywhere near the starting XI. Id play Santi and Ramsey in the middle with Podolksi wide left.

That team above is the most unorgansided formation I've seen in a long time. And I'm a Newcastle fan with Alan 'terrible tactics' Pardew as our manager...

I'm on my phone but can't someone just start up the whole 'now the windows done, what's your hopeful line up/fantasy' thread and keep this to transfer talk, sorry, Leeds United Loan Talk :D.

I would love Wenger to try something like this as I think it's our best 11.

It looks unorganised as I'm showing how the team would move rather than line up.

If you have a football team that always moves in an organised, predictable manner, you'll never get anywhere. Look how random Barca look sometimes when they are attacking.

Would be good to watch attacking, but would get torn to shreds by a decent side unfortunately.

Against weaker teams though, it would probably put 4 past em before they realised what day it was.
