How's it rubbish? United for the past several years were the number one team value wise until this year where RM took over and when you go to other countries, United and Liverpool seem to be the most popular teams. Besides I don't determine who's bigger revenue wise.

I didn't say the number 7 will be worn anytime soon.

I really don't understand why we didn't go after Eriksen, I can only assume Moyes didn't know about him? It's like as soon as we see a good player going for a reasonable value we're just not interested

I dont think Moyes fully understands just how mediocre some of our players are just yet.

He looks genuinely surprised when Valencia fails to beat a man and our midfield seems to be running through treacle.

Give the lad a season or something, there's only been four games and its like the rodwell situation again.

He wasn't good enough to clean Michael Browns boots last season and before that he was at the likes of Sheff Wed! ;)

Now he's the second coming because he's young and English. Media hype as per.

I seem to remember you saying something very similar about Townsed when he was at Leeds being rubbish...now they are both Premiership regulars getting good reviews...do you think playing for Leeds might have been the problem?
:p

I think so along with being played in completely the wrong position. :D

Well the Brown thing was a joke, woooooosh

Townsend, 11 or so loan clubs says it all. I never said he was rubbish for us, his attitude and general chav personality was though. He's not good enough for an top club, the same thing I said about Livermore.

The minute a young English lad comes through it it's the same story. Thankfully like Luke Shaw has signed a new contract and the media have disappeared. Man U fans wanted rodwell when he was the upcoming star, look at him now...

They will have moved on to Barkley after having watched him once.

I swear on my son's life I just typed that then scrolled down to see such posts

Hopefully Moyes will get the youth policy going again at Man United so they can stop taking others young players. The United youth academy lives off that one glorious batch of players and anyone that's come through since has been average. How long can you live off a batch of players almost 20 years ago!

Evans has done pretty well? Same with Pogba if Fergie hadn't screwed it up. Cleverley and Welbeck are both internationals so they haven't done too badly so far. Then we have players like Januzaj and Lingard that look a bit handy.

To me they are all a bit average, cheap players to have in the squad but only Evans is decent enough until you find someone to buy. I don't think being an international footballer unless it's in the spanish team is a real badge of quality anymore sadly.

Most think Welbeck should be at Sunderland or some other up and down side ;)

Even so that's not a great list in nearly 20 years for a club so well resourced.

I imagine it is a mixture of them being borderline good enough but also that anyone who plays for United is assumed to be a quality player. If they can get into the United team then they should be able to get into the national squad.

I can't help but feel that Welbeck must be great in training but at some point you have to transfer that to a match situation consistently. Fergie wouldn't have had so much faith in him if he was training poorly and playing like he has for the past few seasons.

He always looks much better against poor opposition but that is the mark of a qiuality player. The ability to influence a game against the best teams in the world.

In your honest opinion do you think they would be if they were at Sunderland/Newcastle/Everton/Villa?

Cleverley might still show enough but Welbeck?

Hard to say tbh, I think he'd have got more goals at a lower team so still might have got a chance and his England record has been pretty good (annoyingly)

:D lol...Fellaini & Carrick in the middle, it's like looking at a horse and cart.

That is not where pace should be coming from in our midfield. The wingers have been dire for a few years. We need Nani back and on form along with Zaha and hopefuly Kagawa and Januzaj to get much more game time.
