What The Running Numpty fails to state is its a daily star article.

Give me a break, he is the best RB in the league (at least on a par with whoever else someone throws up)

He's only 23, he's had injuries (and not been in fergie's favor, the curse of many a talented footballer)

He's easily up there with the top right backs in the league right now and one of the top young right backs in the world.

Phil lahm was one of the world's best right backs ivanovic arguably.

Rafael? He's not even in the same category as those players. For me the best players in the league are the people who do it for multiple seasons running. Rafael has the odd good game here and there and the rest of the games he is either poor or doesn't play.

You just can't have a sensible argument with someone who rates rafael at 25 mill plus.

Potentially, perhaps. But you can't say someone's amazing/the best unless they play a lot. It's like someone saying Micah Richards is the best RB in the league - you'd chortle heartily if someone said that.

Or like saying Bale is worth stupid money after one great season?

So amount of matches played raises your value  Bale is a year older and played at a smaller club, of course he's going to playing more. Not to mention that defender is generally a position where you go for age and experience over youth.

Fergie preferred rotating both Smalling and Jones in as well up until last season.

It's like saying De Gea is bad because Fergie decided to rotate Lindegaard in, it just means Fergie is stupid. Both players improved dramatically when we finally gave them a solid run.

Last Season Rafael carried our entire right flank. He was excellent in defence and going forward he was our only creative threat (as he had the appalling Valencia ahead of him for most of the season)

Stick him in a team with a great right winger and you're looking at a devastating flank.

He is one of the best right backs in the league at the moment. History means jack squat in this regard, you only look at current form. if Rafael comes back and isn't any good then fair enough, but at the moment he is up there with the best.

I don't remember anyone saying he is the best in the world?

I think Rafeal is a huge promoising player, could easily be one of the best if last year is anything to go by.

But for me Ivanovic or Zabaletta are best RB's in the league .

Rafael played more games than a player which people often like to call the best RB in the league, Zabaleta. (Wiki has Rafaels games wrong, he played 40 games last season, 38 starts and 2 subs.)

And as I said before, he was only behind Van Persie, Carrick, DDG and Evra for the most appearances in the team last year. A team that Fergie liked to chop and change very often, too.

He had one injury last year and missed the christmas period, other than that he was rock solid and by far and away one of our best performers.

Whilst he does need to do it again, the dismissal of his evident quality is nearly on the same level of stupidity as Pingwing basing the entire career of his on the poor game (that every player has) he had against Southampton.

But still, just going to laugh a little while more at Zabaleta being the best and playing mythical amounts of games and Rafael just being **** and injury prone, despite playing more. Woooo0oo00ooo, go Overclockers!

That's André Santos money!

Your talking even sillier than Nick now!

Rafael I'd value at the moment about £15m, but could increase drastically if he can stay fit for any length of time. (over a 2/3 seasons, not just one)

Santos on the other hand I'm not sure is even worth a bag of chips.

I meant that's roughly what we paid for him, I wouldn't even take him on a free :p

Few quotes from Moyes:

Few would argue with Moyes’s perspective on the title race. United’s main rivals, City, certainly faltered. This was not one of United’s greatest title-winning squads. Moyes acknowledged strengthening was required.

“I don’t think it’s actually the squad,’’ he said. “We’ve got numbers. Maybe what we’ll be looking to do is bring players in not for the squad but to go right into the team so that’s the slightly different equation.

"It’s not necessarily the squad players we needed. We needed one or two who might have just gone in [to the team]. But that will happen. But going back to that transfer window, we always said it was going to be a tough one and it was going to take a little bit more time.”

Sounds like he's catching on... hopefully we'll be able to get some players in for the starting eleven in January.

To be fair, in the transfer window it sounded like he had plenty of targets, it's just that Woodward was incapable of doing his job and bring some of the targets in.

Incredible.

No surprise really, its been on the cards for awhile that he was going to Bayern one way or another.

Again Bayern strengthening their team with superb players, i just await the day when Pep gets Messi to come to Bayern lol.
