Sadly my team is still fending off administration and most of the transfers are out rather than in, apart from Danny Wilson, coincidentally ex of Liverpool also.

Wow I didn't know Wilson had left Liverpool, seems not that long ago he was one of those "players for the future" that we should all watch.

this is true. levy is one of the shrewdest in the business at selling and bale's attitude is different to modric and berbatov's but still, i'd rather real either made an offer or kept their beaks out of it.

Only thing I will say about Levy is he failed hard with Berbatov by letting him go so late. Either keep them or sell them early so you can replace them. He won't do that again.

It's what RM always do, sniffing around players, presidents making comments about their targets, player X saying how much he'd like playing alongside so-and-so, few articles in Marca etc and basically trying to unsettle the player and force through a deal.

yeh their president is an arse and it seems a lot of what he does is to get another term. i expect them to throw big money around over the summer and bale is their number 1 target. fine. but atleast have some dignity in how you do your business.

Yep, especially the year he waited and got £10million less for Modric. Knows his stuff does Levy.

The way people go on about Levy is exaggerated but I don't think that's quite fair.

They may have got less money for him but instead of selling him to a direct rival (where you'd be making your rival stronger, while weakening yourself) he went abroad and I always saw the decision (to hold onto him for another year) as a gamble on making it back into the CL (which nearly paid off) - what they'd have got for making it into the CL would have far outweighed the £10m of so they lost on his transfer fee.

this is true. think what you like about levy and the 'spurs are a selling team' sayings. levy does indeed run a very tight ship and will hold on aslong as he can to players that benefit the club.

modric could've gone to chelsea (ironically he may follow mourinho there) a year before real which would've meant selling to a rival london club. we did actually finish 4th but missed out due to chelsea winning the cup. i still think modric would've gone.

we didn't replace him though and this has shown. dembele is good but he's not got the guile of modric but he does compensate that with power. but still, we need someone with the craft to unlock a defence. not being able to do this cost us valuable points.

selling bale would be a massive step back but if real waved £80m under levy's nose, he'd find it hard to refuse and would be pretty bonkers not to sell him for that. spurs can still achieve without bale but my biggest fear is we wouldn't attract certain players who would like to play with him.

With anything over £50m Spurs could bring in 3 top class players that would more than compensate for the loss of Bale.

I'd love Suarez to stay at Livepool and in an ideal world we'd keep him and bring in a few others but I'm a realist. We still need another quality attacking player, a couple of CB's, a LB and a CM and we don't have a bottomless pit of cash to bring these players in. A big offer for Suarez to go along with whatever we get for Carroll, Skrtel and a few fringe players (+ whatever the club give) and we could be looking at something in the region of £100m to spend on 6 of so players. Spent well that could transform our squad.

Well Valdes has said he's going so Barca need a top class 'keeper. Ideally they'd want a Spanish keeper to keep the fans happy. De Gea probably not for sale. Casillas? Perhaps, if mourinho was staying but as he's gone Casillas will be No. 1 again. Of the 3 regular Spanish team 'keepers that leaves Reina.

TBH sell Reina and try and convince Arsenal to sell Courtois. He's been superb for Atletico this season.

What about the keeper that Real signed? Will he be happy sitting on the bench when Casillas inevitably returns to the starting 11?

Lopez will likely leave. He knew what he was getting into and I am sure selling him once Iker was back was the plan.

Nani to monaco for 20m? Sure, sell sell sell sell sell.

You'd get 3 squad players for £50m, none of which would be a game changer, none of which would have 3 players man marking them and force the top 4 teams to change their own tactics. Besides all this, if the club gets a ridiculous amount, you get held to ransom for a ridiculous amount for average players.

Rumours around this morning that Newcastle are looking to sell James Perch, to make way for another influx of foreign players. Not sure how true this is, as he's a great utility player, and I doubt we'd get much money for him!!

Newcastle are going to end up with 0 English players...

Betting has been suspended on Strootman to Man Utd (I know that doesn't mean much).

Betting suspended on Kevin Strootman joining Manchester United

We thought the Kevin Strootman rumours had gone a bit quiet, of course there was the odd story here and there but there hasn't been any big news on him for some time. It wasn't so long ago that it was considered a matter of when and not if the player turned up at Old Trafford, and before the winter transfer window there were of course reports suggests it could even happen then.

Manchester United need strengthening in midfield and Kevin Strootman is an excellent young midfielder, already the captain of his national team at the age of just 23. He can perform a variety of central midfield roles, including the old fashioned job of simply being a 'central midfielder', rather than having to specialise in attacking or defending, a dying art.
