Might as well start this as the Jan thread is redundant now.

Not happy to see us linked with Rashford this morning. Think he had his best years between the ages of 18-22, he seems on a downward spiral now and I wouldn’t put him in front of Martinelli, ESR or Saka.

If you ask me, he’s about Villa or Palace levels

Origi looking locked in for AC Milan on a free. Good luck to him, he's had some truly great memorable moments at Liverpool as we'll always remember him for those glory moments rather than the not-so-glory performances

I will be sorry to see him go tbh. Always worked hard, was always grateful for any opportunity he got and never complained about his minutes or lack of game time. Scored some absolutely vital goals too. He will be missed, but I also hope he smashes them in for Milan too. Except not against us if we come across them in the CL.

Origi will be remembered for the vital goals and will be part of our history in the titles we got as he played vital parts at times, he however was never consistent and never a threat to replace any of our front 3.

It is time he moved on and I wish him the best of luck, who can I **** off now who ends up getting a winner?

France forward Anthony Martial, 26, could be used by Manchester United as a makeweight in a deal to sign England captain Harry Kane, 28, from Tottenham. (ESPN)
Made me chuckle, more like deadweight than makeweight. Presumably they'll offer £150m cash or £175m plus Martial...

I think Martial is on higher wages than Kane so really we should be demanding money comes in our direction as they are clearly getting a better player. Why else would Martial be on those wages :p

Utd fan here. I do not want rice or kane at utd.

Sell / do not renew contract list

Henderson
Jones
Maguire
Wan bissaka
Matic
Pogba
Rashford
Lingard
Cavani
Martial

That's what should happen, but we will probably give them new contracts.

Henderson - might sell but I doubt it
Jones - no idea, probably should have gone a few years ago, cant fault his passion but made of biscuits
Maguire - a decent player in there somewhere but never an £80m player and is in poor form, will struggle to sell
Wan bissaka - likely to go if the club moves in any positive direction because hes not a good WB. Decent defender for a compact team but not a team with any ambition.
Matic - Still quality when he plays but too old and slow if we have any ambition
Pogba - Lets be honest, there is a 50/50 chance we will give him a bumper £400k/week deal vs him leaving at the end of the season
Rashford - Shouldn't be talking about a contract at the moment. Give him pre-season and see what the new manager thinks. Should be moved on if he doesn't rate him Rashford wants a new bumper contract.
Lingard - Will be gone in summer
Cavani - Gone in summer
Martial - Will struggle to sell purely based on wages but should be able to do some sort of deal even if we get little to no transfer fee.

I would add Ronaldo to that list. Will probably be gone in the summer. Also we are almost certainly terminating the contract of Greenwood soon.

This is the problem. We can't bin off 7+ players in one window.

I think AWB, Pogba, Lingard, Cavani, Martial, Ronaldo and Greenwood will effectively be gone this summer.

Oh and I would happily take Kane at United, preferably with Son as well. Not that bothered about Rice for the money be touted. Then again, I don't think Kane at £100m+ is good value either. We are such a crummy team that very few players would come in and be guaranteed to elevate us. I would rather build a solid base of cheaper players and then splurge once we have a plan.

Why wouldn't you want Kane or Rice? Price?

I appreciate Kane is 28 but its not like he's 33 and past it.

Kane is price alone but he will be 29 come the start of next season. Something about him makes me think that hes not going to be elite level at 34.

Rice is just going to be insanely expensive and I'm still not 100% on him. Good player but WH have looked better at times without him.

Mainly I just don't see us getting value for money when we spend big most of the time. And signings like HK and DR would be expensive and not transformative for United. If you want to transform United you need to transform the culture and the style of play. Then you can start worrying about the icing on the cake.
