No those look like 0.8%
You could try looking for Jarrow 5% Rhodiola, it's about £20 inc P&P for 60 caps so quite a bit more expensive than the powder.
Or
.... now don't laugh but Biotest actually make a very good Rhodiola which is a whopping 15% Rosavins. So you only need 100mg or less at this strength. If I wasn't using the powder this is the one I would go for. I've seen it for about £21 delivered but as high as £40 so you need to shop around.
Yeah the powder is awful
5% is good though and worth the price IMO. It's such a good product - however, I guess if the MP stuff is a genuine 3% it's not too bad. It's a shame BSD don't sell it in cap format as I trust their quality.
WOW, must be good
It is. In fact I'm going to place an order today.
What are these Rhodiola Rosea actually supposed to do? are they just happy pills? by increasing serotonin? if they are, i could do with some
They're not really just happy pills. It's an adaptogenic supplement that helps your body modify it's response to mental as well as physical stresses - and can help as a result to improve resistance to stress as well as recovery, though it
can have a fatigue reducing effect, but I don't know about that, though I'd never take it at night. It supposedly has improvement to resisting disease - again I haven't got the paper research to hand for this though.
There have been some clinical trials which has shown to reduce mental stress as well as improve cognitive performance. Also it has been known to boost people's mood and reduce anxiety/depression.
The active ingredient helps to act as a monoamine oxidase inhibitor, and it also increases opiod peptide synthesis, which as you said Kimi allows boosts or enhances the levels of serotonin and dopamine. I believe it does also boost noradrenaline too. As you're aware these three are important neurotransmitters for the regulation in your mood as well as a defence to mental stress stimuli.
RR can help reduce fatigue because it basically boosts the hormonal response to exercise and physical stress (supposedly helps boost ATP synthesis).
RR can help with general "under the weather" conditions (i.e colds, stress depression etc...), high blood pressure and for me it certainly helps the old sex drive - not that I need help with that (I'm like a dog on heat most of the time!
) and has also some heart protective qualities.
It is my all time favourite supp that I was introduced to 6 or so years ago, I've never looked back.
RR, fish tabs, and vitamin D are about the only supps I actually take regularly. Since they have so much research behind them, just like creatine, but i just don't need creatine - which again is another good well researched supp.
I have my "stack" of whey that I use during gym days and on poor diet days - but I'm not religious with it.
