Supra or a Rex?

Now that you have mentioned that your price is 8k, then you can get a better RX7 for that price than a Supra.

But now that Gibbo's car has been mentioned, I would take that. Only 1.5k extra and your getting a hell of a lot for that price and no, Im not trying to pimp his car :p but its a pretty good alternative. Plus he may be open to offers? :D

Gibbo, what do you mean by that it can easily catch you out?

The Supra's turbos are not sequential. The second one is much bigger and when it comes online you can certainly feel it. This is a great feeling but it can also unstick the rear tyres which can mean getting the rear end out.

On the automatics it hits even harder as you get double whammy as when you floor it the AUTO box will kick down and the second turbo will both come online at the same time and the result will be that rear-end shaking its ass. If your new to RWD or high powered RWD don't drive it fast on the roads without getting some experience in first. Also finding a manual will be hard as most Supra's are AUTO's......

In the wet the Supra will be more of a handful than the REX due to the rears been a lot more wider and there been so much more torque. Wheras the REX will be far smoother and linear on the power band due to its wankel high revving engine, so if you drive it smooth you will be safe. Wheras the 3000GT won't have any issues due to been 4x4, but still don't go been stupid. :)

If I knew which one I liked, I wouldn't have to ask this question :p

What I meant is, buy the vehicle you like best when you look at them for sale, don't specify a particular model. I used to flit from looking at RX-7 to supra and I reckon this was because I'd lose interest after seeing so many and go "oh yeah, they exist aswell, hmmmm". So just look at both, but buy the CAR you like the look of best. Surely you get me?

I haven't set in stone with what I am buying, I still have a month or two of working so I can build up the funds to buy the car...what ever she be!

Good, keep an open mind then you'll get the best actual car instead of just gunning for one and maybe making a mistake, I've seen that happen before and then they changed their mind :p

Ah, the S2000. For those drivers who are terrified of encountering torque :)

The S2000 makes up for its lack of torque with a truly fantastic gear box and high revving engine that is an absolute joy to drive. I've had high revving cars, turbo powered cars and torque monsters and they all have their good points.

supra purely for the points that gibbo is telling you to be careful of. once you master it, i bet its a stonking ride!

drexel, your not the first one to say they would prefer the auto supra to manual. i think worthy said the same about his 2 some time ago?

Worthy has an auto, iirc his forum sig contained "6spd > auto" for quite some time too.

did it? im sure he posted in a thread saying how he prefered the auto to manual. could be mistaken tho :/

Go for a Supra... BUT..

They are VERY sensitive to cosmetic modifications. In the right colour, with the right wheels and the right bodykit, they can look stunning.

They can also look gash. Buy a nice one :)

Thanks fox, just what I wanted to hear. Not planning on any bodykits, but probably a nice set of jap alloys, and a new exhaust system.
