No you are simply ignoring the point of the humour, but anyway, i simply don't care about 4 guys, all miners (thus mostly worthless).

I am a realist, i have no connection to these people, thus why should i care?
There are things far more important and/or worse to care about.
None of us really care very deeply (we're not related to them or anything) in that respect, but obviously it would be nice if they are rescued alive and they certainly aren't 'worthless'.
Saying something like that just makes you look completely stupid, it doesn't make you look big or clever.
Well too bloody bad, the people who rule this world are hardly going to give a damn and hugs/kisses wont make them any more compassionate.
Id love it if humanity were completely compassionate, but that isnt the case and frankly, people will simply forget these miners in the near future, all because the news no longer finds it worthy of reporting.
Its better to be honest than to be half truth conventionalist.

4 guys simply trying to do their jobs have got into a serious and life threatening situation. Not to mention the many different rescuers from the multi agency response to the incident who are all putting their necks on the line in an attempt to resolve the situation. But then they will all be "worthless" as well, eh?.
