swansea Miners

I think what strider is trying to say is "They knew what the dangers of mining were, so if they die then its not so bad because there is a high chance of it happening"

Am I right, if so then oh dear.

Quite frankly, no.

Its not much use without context, so i wont explain it.

Its simply not a personal loss for me and i don't believe in holding a grievance for someone i don't know.

Im sorry to have upset people, but that's simply how i feel about it.

Since this is obviously off topic and mostly about me now, i wont hinder this thread further.

What the?

Are you like this with natural disasters and terrorist attacks?

You didn't know them so you're not that bothered

Nobody is complaining or protesting which grievance means, only passing on their respects. Mining is a hard job and they deserve respect in times like these llike any other person.

I do think this has received an unusual amount of media coverage, but for some reason I can empathize more with this situation than other reported tragedies. I guess it's just a bit too close to home. Perhaps I am being cynical but the media and some MP's seem to have been a bit vulture like. Unless they are there comforting the families who have suffered a loss, I really don't see any point in them being at the location. That said, a mere acknowledgement by the welsh secretary to the situation is a bit disgusting.

StriderX, I don't doubt for a second that is the way you think/feel - thanks for your unwelcome perspective.

Then why post about it ?

I have no ties to the miners yet I feel nothing but sympathy for them and their families they have left behind.

Do you know what holding a grievance is or do you think it's related to grief?

Anyway, nobody holds a grievance or is mad, empathy is what makes us human.
The ability to know that a person has lost somebody and you to try and get in their shoes just for a second even if they're on the other side of the world in a tribe you will never know.
I don't believe for one second that you have never done it or else you would be on the autistic scale or have a serious psychological disorder.
