As soon as I find my original dics (in the loft somewhere), I'll be up for this too. Is there a TS3 server we can all chat on?

Be it resources to help you level up or anything else?

Yes, Lok rings a bell djkav. I remember it having higher level mobs etc for xp, there was a themepark there too (Nyms?)
 
is it possible for a new player to get in on this? I.ve never played it before but surely you cant buy the game anymore?

I would like to give it a go after hearing so much about it

Semiskimmed you might be put off by the dated visuals, it also does not hold your hand at all. After a very short tutorial you are left to get on with it.

If you can get past those issues you will have a good time! :)

I found the game in my steam library, I must have bought a Star Wars Collection pack a while ago.

But be warned superantispyware has flagged up a file, as being a advertising downloaded, usually bundled with software, like toolbars. Not sure if this is bad or not, as google brings replies up on both sides.

Well I need.
600k any ore and 200k any gemstone, so if you want to donate some that would be cool.

Other than that i think we should go tatooine, interesting places and seems most of us like it anyway. So we need to find somewhere to base, with good resource spots, so someone who doesn't die by a mossie bite could go exploring.
If anyone goes. Slicer we will need money for Maintenance costs.

And although I would like to do it, someone else should go politician as I'll concentrate on architect.

If anyone's going master artisan, then building 10 or so speeder bikes/swoops would be usefull.

I'll have the 10 houses covered, albeit it rubbish ones to start with

More than happy with Tatooine, brilliant.

I will try and get some mines (or whatever they are called) deployed this evening to help gather resources.

It was so long ago since I played, do I need to be a Novice Artisan to deploy mines?

I am going for Master Smuggler, so will have the slicing covered. (Will also have pistoleer and TKA, so can help exploring!) :)
 
According to the SWG website, you cannot use a trial version of the game, and you must use the original game disks to install from(Including Jump to Lightspeed(JTL) if you have it)

Going by their website it says,
To setup SWGEmu, you will need an ORIGINAL Star Wars Galaxies (SWG) client, yes ORIGINAL Star Wars Galaxies (SWG) client. You can not use 14 day trial client or any other trial client, you can not use client obtained through torrent or warez sites. So if you don't own an original client, SOE's digital copy or original CD's, get yourself one. You can buy original CD's cheap on e-bay or amazon.com. There are quite a few versions that have been released over the years and any version of SWG will work.

I was on Infinity server in Troma guild based on Dant,name was Stel ,good old days,there is a chance your characters could be wiped in the future,end of the day they still got quite of bit of work to do before its all completed so character wipes could well happen.

Btw some info here
May 14th - Liberator offline and wiped. TC: Nova offline. Basilisk launched for stress testing.
May 21st - TC: Nova online and opened to public testing again.
June 11th - Basilisk testing phase complete. Basilisk wiped and becomes play server. Basilisk will persist through Alpha and Beta development phase.
Sometime in far future - Basilisk wiped. Release developmental milestone reached. SunCrusher launched without threat of wipe, ever.

I'm up for abit of guild stuff when I manage to find the game on eBay. So what happens when they character wipe will I have to start a new character?
