HI Everyone,
So forgive me if this is in the wrong place, general hardware seemed like a good start
So its been about 10 years since i built a system, ive been a solid laptop user since then.
I decided time to get a new dedicated PC and decided to build it myself, for the fun side of it and to refresh things in my memory about hardware as well as learn all the new stuff.
WOW looking through all the latest hardware everything has changed so much....LOL...so many new 3 letter acronyms to learn.
Anyways i am thinking of putting together the following system based on some research.
Can anyone see any issues or conflicts here or if i need anything else such as something obvious i am missing and things like cables and such ? does everything below come with everything i need ?
CPU
Intel Core i7-2700K 3.50GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor - Retail
CPU Cooling System
Intel Liquid Cooling Solution CPU Cooler (Socket LGA1155/1156//1366/2011)
Motherboard
Asus P8Z68-V GEN3 Intel Z68 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard
Memory
Corsair Vengeance 16GB (4x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual/Quad Channel Kit (CMZ16GX3M4A1600C9)
Chassis/Case
Cooler Master CM-690 II Advanced USB3.0 Windowed Gaming Tower Case - Black
PSU
Corsair Enthusiast Series TX 750W V2 High Performance '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply (CMPSU-750TXV2UK)
Graphics Card
Asus GeForce GTX 580 DirectCU II 1536MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card
Solid State Drive ( HDD 1)
OCZ Vertex 3 120GB 2.5" SATA-3 Solid State Hard Drive (VTX3-25SAT3-120G)
Normal HDD (HDD 2)
Seagate Barracuda 7200RPM 1TB SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache - OEM (ST1000DM003)
Optical Drive 1
LG BH10LS38 10x BluRay-RW / 16 x DVD±RW Lightscribe Drive - Black (OEM)
Optical Drive 2
OcUK 22x DVD±RW SATA ReWriter (Black) - OEM
This all look good ?
any problems ?
anything missing ?
anything shouldnt be there ?
Wasnt sure about memory, is there better or is that ok ?
Also the Intel cooler ? I mean i take it this replaces what used to be a fan on the CPU ? so i dont need a fan, this cooler works well with the CPU to keep it cool instead of a fan these days ?
Do i need extras, like thermal paste, cables, connectors etc ?
I see the PSU's are modular so do i need to get anything extra with that ?
I will be running a dual 24" monitor setup from the Nvidia card.
I am not a big game player though i might play a few here and there, and i willl be running Debian Linux though i may dual boot with Windows 7 not sure, but definately a Debain Build
Thanks for your time guys to those who have input, i appreciate it.
Cheers in advance
