If you are on T-mobile and have a poor signal you can switch onto orange, you have to sign up which takes a couple of minutes:

They say you cannot use 3g but it seems to be working fine for me... Maybe they just mean on the orange network you will have a slower speed?

Edit

Orange users can obviously register too, theres a link on the same page

Doh, and yeah i did get a text. you just reply YES and you get a confirmation text back. After that you search for networks and choose orange/tmobile

Just registered for this. Can you force the network to just connect to t mobile or not (just to check its working)? Ive just tried to and its says sim will not work on this network.

Thats odd because I just searched for networks and chose orange, it then registered to orange and that was it...

Same here, signed up with 2 phones after I've texted back saying yes I've had bugger all.

Ok I've just had a spam of texts from Orange saying the request I made was accepted. But still under network connections T-Mobile is still a nono, I assumed you'd be able to chop and change between the two for a better signal? Orange signal in my house is 1 bar to zilch.

You get a single text, you reply YES to this text. You then get a final text. Thats all, you then search for the network you are after... Maybe it is getting swamped with requests?

The help stuff seems to be more usefull on the tmobile set than the orange site if you are stuck

I got a text reply from Orange (after I sent the YES) saying - 'Hi, we made the update you asked for'

I cant manually get on T-Mobile yet at least, I suspect there are plenty of problems with it at the moment as loads of people will be setting it up. Just wait and give it another try tonight or tomorrow.

It says on the webpage as you're setting it up you have to have the network provider set to auto else it doe'snt work.

Had a 'sorry we've had a problem with your request. Please call customer services' text. Gave them a ring and they're currently receiving a 'large number' of calls and to call back later if it's not an emergency.

Think I'll come back to this in the morning....

think it only failed because the account was activated after the first 'yes' you sent as i did the same thing as you and got the same tect message.

I got all those texts from orange, then after a while, i got one saying to reboot my phone (blackberry)
