Project T-REX (Paint It Black II).

Tomorrow I will start building a new PC that will get a lot of use next year.

I am not 100% sure what parts I will use as I have a lot of spares and will use what works best. I will list them in the post below as I build the machine.

Eventually the PC will be equipped with some next gen cards when they are available, there is a clue in the title.

The plan is to have two separate waterloops, one for the CPU and one for the GPUs. This will give me the chance to use my chiller on the CPU when needed. To start with there will only be one loop as the GPUs I want are not available yet.

I will be going more for function so please feel free to call my new build ugly, more so because it will be about 95% black in colour so no bright colours.:D

Some benches like Unigine Valley and 3dmark Vantage on the normal preset are not worth running due to the huge CPU bottleneck.:)

Bad news, my project has come to a halt as soon as I opened the box the 900D was in.

The side panel was not attached to the case and the top rail that holds it on was completely detached. Short of breaking something I have no way of refitting it.

Other problems,

One of the caddies fell to bits but I managed to reassemble that.

The top fan cover was not properly attached.

Some of the plastic strips that the side panel sits on are missing.

Fortunately this is one of the few things I did not buy from OCUK.

Corsair really need to work on the quality of their cases as this is garbage.

RMA time.

Kaapstad can't believe you have bought another one of these crappy made cases. this is the main reason my PC is still living in boxes. Really think corsair cases leave little to be desired. Hope it get sorted quickly.

Today I wondered why I bought it as well.

Slight change of plan

I have just ordered a Little Devil V8 with green interior which should work well with NVidia cards.:)

Does anyone know what I can do with the 900D I am RMAing tomorrow, am I within my rights to cancel it all together?

If it's within 2 weeks of purchase you can just get a full refund on it, If I understood your question properly.

You did understand the question.:)

Fortunately I did not get it from OCUK.

Ah cool ok then well as far as I know most places either have a 14 day or 28 day money back/refund policy :)

Just shout at them for selling you a faulty product and demand your money back !!!

The qa on that case is terrible.

Anyway looking forward to your build Kaap. :)

P.S Can I have one of your old pc's? :p
