** TABLET CLEARANCE JANUARY SALE: COMMENCES NOW!! **

Going to return mine for some reason it does not seem to install anything on the SD card I put in so the internal memory fills up fast. Will get a iPad a lot better

I went and bought a Gigaset tablet at just under 60 quid and its so far doing the job that this couldn't and install facebook ;)

At the launch of this sale there was plenty of "staff" comments, now so many are unhappy it seems that silence is the way forward :(

Now forgetting many clearly have not been refurbished (or they would not contain private data) I would never buy anything at any price with just a 30 day warranty, if they cant make it a year they may as well bin it IMO.

So now, after the removal of the link, does anyone have any solution on the problem ? Or can we use the third party program(link2sd) to move apps to sdcard without using the script first? what does it mean "rooted tablet" anyway ?
Sorry for noob questions, not used to tablets u know :p

anyone ? :)

I'd say it was arguable about robzere31's link to the XDA forums having malware in it as I've not had any issues doing what he suggested. (Forgot to say thanks so I'll say it now, robzere31. Thanks.:))

I use F-Secure anti virus, which I believe is one of the best. If that didn't find anything, I'm not worried.

From what I've read, XDA Developers are trustworthy too so see if robzere31 would be kind enough to link you to it again. I didn't bookmark it, sorry.

Though I'd share my experience with the 10.1. Bought it for my Mum to test out the concept of using a tablet at meetings etc. as well as being a personal diary and being suitable for some light office work instead of using the (disgracefully awful) school provided laptops.

She said it arrived in the right box with the correct charger. The unit itself seemed perfect to me. No obvious scratches or dents and the screen was fine. Powered on quickly, seemed to be factory new. Minimal pre-installed software. Installed Outlook, Youtube, Firefox and an office program easilly with ~180MB left on the internal memory... seems fine to me. But, no need for Facebook, which I understand has been a big concern for some.

Functionally, it seems good to me. Relatively quick, nice screen and doesn't seem to hang on opening etc. The one issue is that the touch capabilities of the screen aren't great. It looks fine, but it requires a fairly deliberate stab to click and stuff like holding and dragging can be occasionally frustrating. I will say that it is perfectly useable, but in terms of handling, just doesn't compare to the responsiveness or accuracy of any of the modern phones or more recogniseable tablets.

It worked perfectly with a mini-USB keyboard, which I would reccomend if you actually plan to type anything at all substantial on it. Mini-HDMI, bluetooth and SD card slot, I'll test at some point when I have the stuff, but I have no reason to assume they wouldn't work.

Overall, I was pleased. For £50, it is what it is. You really can't have everything at this price point. If it was mine I'd root it and mess around some more, but for the everyday fumblings of an otherwise techno-muggle it performs admirably. Would reccomend (for £50!)

TL;DR 10.1 is good overall for the price. App storage might be a limitation for some, touch capabilities could be improved.

~My source: I downloaded and ran the .exe file. My antivirus said "malware/virus" cant remember which but it named something. I ran it anyway having been assured this was a false positive. Antivirus simply will not allow it to be run even though Ive said just run it, so I turn off antivirus completely and run it (nothing on that computer a quick image restore wont fix). An installer appears and starts to go to town installing things. It looks very dodgy so I restart antivirus quickly and it stops the process. Antivirus pops every 10 seconds saying http://random dodgy link is untrusted and has been blocked, different links each time. Run full system scan/ malware scan. Remove some items. Remove firefox extension that keeps trying to send me to malware sites. Pretty sure that the file was a virus. :)
