Tabletop Warhammer?

First mistake of the year!! Had some nice paint jobs on two wolves and totally put the wrong colour wash over them. Used black instead of a light brown haha

If anyone isn’t using the Swedish dishcloths in there hobby time just nip down to the pounds shops and pick a packet up. Unbelievable product for our hobby. So much better than paper towels.

These wolves I’m trying to paint are a bit pita. They are not the new sculpts and have flat areas so don’t take washes well or various brush techniques!!

There also not the smoothest after I stripped them. Should have just painted over the top of the previous paint job!!

@PC777 Thanks for the kind words, feels odd considering how useless I felt two years ago.

That's a tremendous output you have there, I have long been thinking about an orange and black army of some sort.

One observation/feedback, they look very glossy, did you wash them as a final stage or actually intentionally varnish them satin or gloss?

I feel a matte varnish would really benefit unless that was intended look (could always satin after) could be the photos of course.

Cheers, I made them look glossy skin deliberately as I wanted to get a slimy frog skin look, but they do reflect a bit much too much light in areas. I used ardcoat for gloss and stormshield for matt areas, but can paint over either one with each other type and restore matt or gloss as needed. I can go over and paint out some of the glossy areas but I actually wanted them to be really slimy looking, expecially around their mouths, but it is good feedback as some would benefit from a bit less gloss.

Ah ok, that is why I added the bit about it being intentional just in case :) You achieved what you were after in that case.
