Some great stuff been posted since I last visited. I've actually finished my custom Ork combat patrol display as tried painting in batches of two and three for first the time with some quicker results. All are fuly magnetised bases and complete in the steel lined, modded display box type I use. Just need to take photos and compile them, I'm using a lot quciker way of compliing multiple images into one on desktop, so won't have to post as many, but I still have lots more to post after this lot.
First few are with my new camera phone I only just got, so still getting used to it, but it does have very good colur accuracy overall. Some later ones posted here are from my old camera which wasn't nearly as good colour accuracy.
Loved using the sprues to make an ork shelter of a type, uses a lot of sprues, if I had more could easily build a whole tower or base. It even look good for being so slapdash with the bullet holes being where I snipped off curcular sprue bits. Really like this though it needs a lot of magnets to stay put in my steel lined display cases. I did find a tutorial on youtube that inspired me to do this, but I think mine here is better as he cut them all into small bits, I used the framework of an suitable spure to make it a lot easier, I do love the barbed wire at top which is just snipped bits that had something like guns on it or or similar. Steel tape makes it work great with the magnetised bases looking out its window.
Finally some from my old phone camera with not as good colour accuracy, these are the orks you get with the Wartrike set.
I magnetised his foot so he can go on or off the bike when displayed.
This little git was a lot of fun to paint but had a hollow back so I had to use greenstuff to fill it in.
Finally this very cool ork wartrike rider, shame you have to glue him on bike as is a really nice sculpt, worthy of kitbash. Without anything on the mask it didn't look that great with just purple, but I copied the box art skull which looks much better than nothing.
Overall loved painting the orks, much easier than grey knight overall, though did get burned out with painting batches, I didn't magnetise them which makes it a lot easier as well than the grey knights that had lots of them. I also didn't to any decals as I think they look better without for my custom Alloween Gitz faction. The whole set looks pretty great in display, I've plently more pics to post later. Cheers all.
