Taiwan and China thread.

This is just one of hundreds of other attacks in Europe carried out by so called Russian civilians acting on orders from the Kremlin. The Russian government loves it because using so called civilians lets them carry out attacks on the west and then claim its not an act of war

Perhaps all Russians in Western Europe need to be deported back to their ********

Well confiscated shipping will start impacting them at some point. So too would a military escort..

Will probably collapse with a few months.

Preparing to invade a weakened Russia then..

The interesting thing is that nuclear weapons, rather than an immediate release of energy, could be made to run at a high thermal output for a longer period. The result is like nuclear thermite. The alternative is that a bunker buster style nuclear weapon simply detonates to one side of it, the shock wave knocking concrete spall and cracking the concrete letting ground water in to flood it..

What is your source for that you are talking about controlled fusion reactions.

The result is like nuclear thermite.
Do you mean actual thermite or as seen on TV thermite?

Because if it's the former you're basically just describing a reactor meltdown. The energy release wouldn't be remotely comparable to a nuclear weapon detonation, and with a weapon the size of a tactical nuke would do almost no damage aside from release a ton of radiation.

If it's the latter then it would probably have the desired effect in theory but I'm not sure redesigning a tactical nuke to function like make believe technology is a valid strategy

And wouldn't last long - Chernobyl was the equivalent of 100s of nuclear bombs made to run a high thermal output for a longer period so to speak.

The way the world is changing I'm not sure it'll be much more than a whimper with a lot of people leaving Taiwan and the major industries long gone by the time China invades.

China conquering the one thing they don't need...empty space.

Perhaps Taiwan could try one of the options that was considered as the location for the Jewish homeland before they settled on Palestine. For example the US or Australia could presumably find some territory for those that don't fancy staying under Chinese rule, especially if they are bringing a thriving tech industry with them.

France should hook them up with some nukes in exchange for a TSMC fab. Good for Taiwan, good for Europe to have a state of the art fab.

Agreed but they just bribed trump with 100 billion USD

Nothing to stop Europe getting a fab as well. It would be a bargain for Taiwan if they got some nukes.

Indeed. We can only hope for the safety of the Taiwan populace as well as the global population. Imperialism isn’t good for humanity when we need to solve climate change and inequities
