How would the average man in the street go about hiding / laundering money from the authorities? If I came by £1m cash illegally, what's the safest way to hide it in an account?

On the other side of things, how do financial forensics teams trace money back through banks? Is a warrant needed in all cases? What about banks in non-friendly countries; can't I just send my money there?
