rather have mine done by an experienced tattoo artist i know than go to japan and get it done by someone i dont know

It'll be similar over there though - a decent artist commands good money. I'd think if anything, it would be more expensive over there as tattooing isn't nearly as mainstream as it is over here, so I'd assume a good artist over there could charge a pretty good sum of money for custom work.

Well each to their own. But then that's what tattoo's are all about after all.
i got more work coming up monday as stated, not looking forward to it im having the octopus done in deep purples etc and i dont like that area being tattooed, it thrashes.
im also awaiting pics of blackstars spine tattoo!

Small "Slipknot S" on my left arm
Self-Drawn tribal across the back of my neck/shoulders
Metallica star under neath that one
Pretty big tribal/flame down the outside of my right calf
Looking into making the slipknot tat a half sleeve, been trying to draw one up for a few months now but just cant get it exactly how i want it :/

They're nice. Having them done by someone with talent evidently makes all the difference
go to a respected tattoo artist give them your pictures and photos and all ideas, they will draw it up much better than we can or you (maybe) and they'll change it til your happy.

thanks mate im rathe proud with how there coming on, wish i had the funds to get the sleeve moving fast paced but just cant at the moment. i like her because she takes her time, and cares about what they look like. if shes not happy with colour she sorts it out for free etc.

i think a tattoo artist who can tattoo well but is also willing to put effort in to making it as you like, is a proper artist i seen tattooist who have done ink when the customer isnt entirely sure about it, makes me think they dont care

a good tattoo artist is:
one who cares about there work.
one whos work is awesome but still thinks its crap, and trys to better themselves constantly.
one who cares about what looks good
one who tells you if an idea is crap and that it will look crap
one who cares about what your tattoo looks lilke
Some cool tattoos guys, i'm toying with the idea of having a tattoo done at somepoint. Problem is i can't find anything thats catching my eye at the min, i'm after something thats a bit different to all the tribal, oriental style tattoos that everyone seems to have now. Gonna try and find a few sites see if there are any designs i can use to give me ideas, but i'm not going to rush in and have one done until i find something that i'm 100% on.

im looking to get my back one extended but cant find anything that i think will go well together with what i got already and cant find anything i will actually want
