It's that time of the year folks;

Pick your first eleven, 7 subs.

Gary Neville has done his! (I'm on my iPad at the moment so can't be bothered to copy paste it!)

Gary Neville's team of the Year;

---------------Hart---------------
Walker--Kompany--Coloccini--Baines
Valencia--Y.Toure--Silva--Dempsey
------------RVP----Rooney------------

(If you're going to do a job, do it properly :p)

I'll have a think about mine :p

Ps. Making this before Andy starts deleting posts in other threads

I genuinely think you could have a team of the 1st half and a team of the 2nd half and they'd be completely different, for example Scholes & Valencia would be in my team now but neither started until January conversely Silva wouldn't get anywhere near my team now but before January I was certain he'd be POTY

You go first Tummy :p

Well that's mine* people will mock, but this is what I came up with in the 2 minutes I took to think about it. Using my normal FM Tactics, so Aguero and Rooney are obviously playing as Inside Forwards. :p

*It will probably change when I remember someone else. :o

This is what I've come up with;

--------------------Hart--------------------
Richards--Kompany--Coloccini--Baines
----------Carrick----------Parker----------
------------------Dempsey-----------------
Aguero------------RVP-----------Mata

Subs: De Gea, Agger, Evans, Y.Toure, Valencia, Silva, Ba

I've put those who I feel have been consistent the longest in the starting XI and those who started well but have tailed off (or those who have only been in form since the turn of the year) on the bench.

Not sure how people aren't picking Skrtel. Him and Agger our only two who would be worthy of it, and Lucas if it ended in November :p.

Of the two I think Agger is far better hence why I've put him on the bench in my team, problem with Skrtel is he only looks good when partnered with the right player i.e. he needs Agger to make him look good, that's not a sign of a great player IMO

tbf after the season Liverpool have had you can't really blame anyone for not having any Liverpool players in their team ;) :p

Skrtel this season has actually looked fine without Agger, it was previous seasons he didn't, also you need to be some sort of god to look great beside Carra at times.

i like this. bale hasn't played lb other than when down to injury but that's a great team. i would swap song for modric though.

I'm hoping a new up and coming manager tries my new formation at some point!

I've mentioned in the past that Skrtel doesn't look the same player when playing alongside Carragher; he looked on edge, would make rash challenges etc. That's not been the case this season (since Dalglish and Clarke took over actually). I've always said that he has everything it takes to be a top class CB; he's big, strong, quick, good in the air and (surprisingly) very good with the ball at this feet, and he's shown what he's capable of in patches but never for more than a couple of months until 14-15 months ago.

Alongside Agger or Carra, he's been excellent all season long and imo he's been the best CB in the league this season.

edit: and I'm a massive Agger fan, and he's been better than him when they've played together.

prefer bale as the left back with walker on the other side, with parker there we can go to a back 3 when walker & bale get forward :D

chose song over modric as i see him in a similar mould to toure, they can be defensive, but do make good forward runs, specially with some of the passes song has produced this season, having parker/tiote behind him will let him do it a bit more :).

with Skrtel i like his presence in the oppsitions box as much as his own, but i still think he's to prone to rash challanges, starting to wonder if its carra's bad influence.

really like agger, and if he wasn't so unlucky with injuries he might well be in my team.

Hasn't Skrtel been at fault for a lot of goals against recently?

A lot? No. He kicked a Wigan player in the head when trying to clear the ball (which led to a penalty) and was marginally caught under the ball for Newcastle's 1st. I've just had a quick look back through our results since the new year and they're the only 2 goals I can remember him being at fault for in any way, and they were hardly glaring mistakes. I think you'd be hard pushed to find a single defender that couldn't have done a bit better for a fair few goals each season.

edit: He did give a pen away vs City at the start of January but that was a dive by Toure.
