Team of the season;

I would tweak it slightly to:

---------------Hart----------------
Walker--Kompany--Coloccini--Enrique
Valencia--Scholes--Silva--Gutierrez
--------Dempsey----RVP-----------

-----------------Krul---------------
R.Martin--Kompany--Williams--Baines
Lennon---Scholes---Tiote------Mata
---------------Dempsey-------------
----------------RVP-----------------

Subs: Vorm, Skrtel, Silva, Ba, Holt, Coloccini and Hoolahan

Anyone with De Gea in nets needs to watch more football especially with him in goal. The guy is appalling. He doesn't control his box, loves a parry and is hopeless when pressured (see Wigan last week).

.......................Vorm
Richards...Kompany...Vermaelen...Enrique
Dempsey.....Parker.....Toure......Mata
...............Aguero...Van Persie

Not 100% happy with that side, Vermaelen has had the odd bad game but has been immense in others. Putting Dempsey and Mata on the wings may not work great either. Toughest part for me was picking the central midfielders and I could be persuaded otherwise.

Also just realised I don't have any players from the team that's top of the league, this wasn't deliberate but they've rotated their squad quite a lot for one reasona or another which maybe explains why. I think all the players I've picked have played at least 25 Prem games this season.

-------------------Hart--------------

------Richards---Kompany---Coloccini----

------------------Tiote-------------------

Valencia-----Dempsey----Toure--------------Bale

--------van Persie--------Aguero------------

---------------Hart---------------

Richards-Kompany-Koscielny-Baines

--------------Song---------------

-----------Arteta-Silva-----------

Valencia---van Persie--Aguero-----

Bench:

Szczesny
Sagna
Enrique
Williams
Yaya
Dempsey
Ba

Can't believe no one has mentioned Koscielny yet who has been amazing. Best defender in the Premier League right now only behind Kompany. Koscielny is better than Vermaelen currently and he will establish himself as Arsenal's #1 defender. In fact, I think he may have already done that.

Koscielny has been quite consistent this season but Vermaelen at the top of his game (e.g. vs Liverpool at the start of the season, or his contributions going forward) is better than Kos at the top of his. Difficult call though.

Surprised to see Arteta get picked as until recent months he was pretty average.

No more than you choosing Koscielny, Song and Arteta I would presume

Robert1986 did just pick the Man Utd team without any other teams players in there though. You can argue they've been the best team this season and so it does make a sort of sense to just pick them as a team but individually they've almost certainly not had the best players in every single position - team of the year normally being a selection based on the best performing player for each position. It's not the only way to do it but it is the most common so I can see why comment was made.

He's quite good, that's literally as strong a word as i'd use, 'quite'.

Undoubtably Robert was trying to be funny (trying being the operative word) that said anyone who was taking him seriously and decided to then take exception with certain players (2 of the better ones at that) all the while naming fairly 3 run of the mill players himself needs to be had a word with ;)

Song, who has supplied some incredible passes for RvP's left foot and put in solid defensive performances, unmatched in the standing tackle is a viable choice. He's much more talented than Tiote who is tenacious and strong but doesn't have the class and overall abilities of Song objectively speaking.

You don't watch enough of Arsenal. De Gea's first season is considered a flop considering his high price tag. Ferdinand is now old, slow and vastly inferior to the likes of Kompany. Wellbeck is no where near RvP. Need I say more?

De Gea's a flop because of his price tag? So any player that comes with a hefty price tag regardless of their age/experience is a flop if they don't hit the ground running? Not only is your logic incredibly flawed so is your opinion on De Gea on the whole. Ferdinand old and slow? Well yes he is older now and yes he has lost a yard of pace but vastly inferior to Kompany he is not. As for Welbeck you're right he is no Van Persie but then why would you compare him with RVP anyway? News flash not many strikers are as good as RVP

youtube as evidence? wow. Pretty sure Titus Bramble will have a couple of those to. Another one to the ignore list :(
