Ted Lasso

Hah, Roy says "Hey Siri, play the Roy is sorry for not understanding Keeley playlist".

It actually exists!

I've avoided this for quite a while, I follow football quite a bit, and either the way it was marketed, or the notion of it, or just the picture that they use to promote it, it just totally turned me off. I had some notion that it would be an american view of "soccer" and some slap stick stuff.

Also, Although I love comedy shows on TV, and will watch the big bang, friends, not going out til the cows come home, I'm never drawn into deciding to watch a netflix/amazon/apple comedy series, if I'm looking for a new series it is ALWAYS sci-fi, crime or drama.

But it kept interjecting iiself on me, constantly seeing universal praise for it, and it winning awards etc, so on saturday past, against my better judgment, I decided to give it a go.

It is really good, not necessarily in a rip-roaring belly ache laughing way, but in a good nature comedic warm hearted kinda way, where you definitely want to see the main character do well. Sat and watched 4 in a row.

I really recommend it.

I love this thread for all the 'Despite everyone saying it's really good, I didn't watch it until now because of X and Y... now I'm watching it, it's really good!'. Like people trying to justify why they thought they wouldn't like it. Maybe we should have an award for 'Best reason to have not believed everyone'.

I didn't want to watch this as i don't enjoy football, but gave it a try due to the hype. The football is a backdrop to the characters and even the football bits are well done.

I binged S1 - 3 in a few weeks and was blown away, amazing show and i never saw a drop in quality. Made me laugh, cry and was a bit of an emotional rollercoaster.

Fantastic TV :)

*whissssssstle!!!*

Considering how much I dislike football I decided to give this a go after seeing a clip on Instagram (the niece, dentist episode) and I've well and truly got hooked. So much so I've almost finished season 3.

Bit of drama, some sadness and lots of laughter. :)
Initially liked Nathan but not so much as the seasons progressed. Absolutely love Roy, think he's brilliant !
Haven't read through the entire thread in case there are spoilers but anyone else think Roy walks like a sims character ? :D

It's a testament to what good writing can do. Sure it's a saccharine, fluffy, feel good comedy about people getting to know themselves..... which I would normally not give a second look....but it's so well executed, it works, even when the jokes aren't landing.

I have no interest in football and loved this show. I only started as season 3 was out.

Started this 2 nights ago. Binged S1 and last night started S2, got a couple episodes left. Really good. Roy is awesome. A feel good TV show.
If there ever was a live action Simpsons movie/tv show, Ned Flanders role is sorted already.
Well, this was posted during S2. I watched the first episode of S3 last night and during his Presser, he said that about Ned Flanders. I did a belly laugh.

I noticed the episodes are around 40-45 mins. I think thats too long. 30 mins was a sweet spot for a show like this, like in S1 (cant recall running time in S2, probably 30 mins as they seemed to fly by). Same with Community, what? 20-25 mins tops. What they crammed into that amount of time was amazing.

Oh and Zava, clearly Zlatan. Penny dropped after a few scenes
