Ted Lasso

Thought the third season was a bit weak, feels like the show kind of lost it's way. Final episode was great though. Third season had weirdly long episodes but also felt like very little actually happened in it. There was not much football and Ted almost seemed a side character in his own show at some points. Too many side storylines that didn't really progress or conclude with any satisfaction and were completely unconnected.

Trying not to read too much but I'm annoyed I didn't give this a chance sooner. Had the darts scene in one of the episodes and it was brilliant.

Also realised that Paul is one half of my favourite boxing podcast. Didn't realise he was in this

Yeah, agree with it in parts. I really couldn't care about Keeley's PR agency so having multiple episodes dedicated to that was a bit meh to me.

I still enjoyed the season overall.

Me and the misses just finished season 1 of this, as I took advantage of the 6 months Apple TV+ free deal thing.

We're really enjoying it! Very light hearted and watchable, and both of us cant stand football either. The Roy character is the best :)

Great TV series and really enjoyed it. I did feel the third series lost its way a touch, but still a thoroughly enjoyable series I shall rewatch. Feel good TV at it's finest, though my girlfriend realises she is with Roy Kent now. Noooo (and walk off)

I think there was one episode in season 2 where it focused on coach Beard’s night out, that was definitely an out there episode. Funny in parts but it way outside what normal for the series in general.
Yeah, I couldn't get my head around that one.

The Christmas episode in series 2 made up for it though. The interaction between Roy, Phoebe and Keeley was superb. It was just a fantastic episode.

Keeley is as much a part of AFC Richmond as is Roy Kent so for me, that was part of the story. No issues here.

True. Would still prefer if there was a little less of it though.

We finally finished watching it. Good enough ending and it probably was a good idea to end it come to think about it. Felt a bit rushed though, especially with regards to Nate.

Overall for me seasons 1 was awesome. The following seasons just could not hit that caliber unfortunately.

The Nate resign thing did take me by surprise I just confess. Had to double check the episode number as I thought I’d missed one!
Did seem a bit quick. But in some ways I liked it. Nate realised who he was working for when at the bar and being offered girls.
He made his excuses, which while not obvious, was in hindsight a clear indicator he was resigning. He went to see Jade and I think their hugging was also the silent communication of what had happened.

To be fair I was confused when I watched the next episode. But as it was just the night before for us, i realised what I’d seen 10mins of show time earlier, actually meant.

In the bar, Nate said "I need to leave. Long story. I wanted to come and tell you in person"

I took that as his resignation.

Sure. But it could have all been done a but better. Seemed like a big enough thing and needed more screen time in my opinion. Just seemed a bit odd Nate went from being the arch enemy to suddenly serving food to then going back to his old job. I know he was a bit of an odd fella but who would do that.

I was also surprised when Kent was announced as manager at the end. Was kind of thinking it might be Nate. Though Roy did make sense to.

We put that down to the fact that Roy had "evolved" as a person and so was being rewarded for that which felt like a nice recognition. Especially after his request to join the diamond dogs. Whereas Nate needs to re-earn that trust and so overlooking Roy would be unfair.

I still think my favourite scenes were Roy addressing the media. "New Trent, i like you better than old Trent"

Season 3 was crap for the vast majority of episodes and some really odd choices.
Like that bit where they're talking about the Fappening and how horrible it is, and then make a paedophile joke like it was nothing. Very odd.

The Nate story went nowhere and was poorly done after season 2.
The last episode was brilliant though.
