Ted Lasso

I noticed the episodes are around 40-45 mins. I think thats too long. 30 mins was a sweet spot for a show like this, like in S1 (cant recall running time in S2, probably 30 mins as they seemed to fly by). Same with Community, what? 20-25 mins tops. What they crammed into that amount of time was amazing.
Between S2 and S3, I remember an interview with Jason Sudeikis saying that they finally got some freedom with the timings for S3 because they'd been constrained during the first two series. He was happy that for S3, the episode lengths could vary and they'd be able to tell the full story without having to worry about it.

Yeah I think they started to lose the way in season 3 to be honest, not sure that they can drag another season out of it. The problem is they started a show with a cast of characters whose lives were intertwined. With season 3 they tried to continue all those stories with characters whose lives were no longer intertwined. I don't know whether they will try something different or try to do the same thing, I guess we find out.

We loved series 1 and 2 but even 3 felt a bit unnecessary, so 4 feels like a bit of a stretch. Love the characters and we will check it out, but I don't feel it's needed

Though the scene in Jamie Tartt's childhood bedroom still has me chuckling. There is no need for a 4th series, I can only hope it is being done out of love rather than money.

Just finished my second time through this. Although S3 is a slight drop off, it really is very very good TV. My favourite line was McAdoo taking a corner and the fan with 'Juuuust outside'. One of those 'if you know, you know' jokes I guess. There was another in the last episode, I'm annoyed now I can't remember it though.

Had a quick google and it seems S4 filming has begun and yes, based on him coaching a women's team and apparently quite a few of the cast won't return.

I much preferred S3 to S2 - although I agree that it was still really good TV.

I liked where the story went in season 3 but I always preferred 'Ted' being the story and the focus. Season 3 felt like we were watching more of the 'side' characters and their dramas/businesses etc.

Yeah, you could be right. S2 got a little political/mental health and a little all over the place. I guess actually S1 was one of the best seasons of TV I've seen, it does drop off to S2 and S3, but the end of S3 kind of picks up some of the original feel good stuff.

It’s utterly amazing, and I wish they’d have just left it where it was. Yes S3 wasn’t as good, but it was still entertaining.

The old "rinse them while we can" seasons coming up.

I also just finished a re-watch and the show still shines with that feel good factor.
