Teeth brushing in the morning

I cant believe so many people only brush after breakfast - thats disgusting  - cant understand why you would have been taught like that . Pretty sure its also something dentists/NHS advise not to do to prevent additional damage to your teeth too...

ps3ud0

You shouldn't brush after eating, that's actually worse for your teeth.

The explanation was on BBC's bang goes the theory last week.

I've always brushed before breakfast anyway.

Before, but then go in the shower. Then by the time I have breakfast the minty taste has pretty much gone so i can eat then gtfo to work.

I have heard also that if you do it after I think its better.. something to do with acid/alkaline in your mouth after eating and toothpate, or along those lines lol or maybe its better before *shrugs*

I've never understood people who brush their teeth before breakfast, I mean, what's the point? You clean them only to get them mucky again 5 minutes later! Seems daft to me.

Food is only part of 'dirty' teeth. Overnight bacteria that builds up plaque is just as much of an issue.

I have breakfast about 1 hours after brushing, teeth brushing is part of the getting up routine before I get to work, I then have breakfast around 8 or 9 but that could be after a meeting and scutty mouth doesnt help anyone there.

Im always amazed how crap some peoples teeth look with material that obviously isnt food or tooth forming part of their smile

I think most of us (well myself) eat soon after waking, and then brush soon after that.
