Same thing everyone else does? I've never been a drinker and my average night out at Uni involved the same things as everyone elses - just without getting hammered or spending 50 quid I couldnt remember the next day.

I'm quite anti-social. I prefer to be alone most of the time. But I still enjoy going to the pub, just don't go as regularly as I used to.

Depends who I'm around, my personality is quite different around my family for example.

Honestly, I'd choose to stay in with friends rather than go out.

:Edit: The posts below sum up how I feel quite nicely, the prospect of going out to clubs/bars just doesn't excite me.

I'm probably in the middle. I'm quite private about some things, but I'm good fun and can happily talk to anyone, I'm quite chatty.

I'd go out - but there's nothing to do. Scotland is an acoholic wasteland. Everything centres around drink. People rate weekends based on how ill they made themselves, and how stupidly they acted. For 15 years I did the same, then realised what a shambles it was and stopped.

In the grand scheme of things probably a bit introverted. If it were my choice it depends what was happening: I generally don't like going out out to bars/clubs (for pretty much all the reasons that The Halk posted) but if it's food and a trip to the cinema or a get together at somebodies house, even with alcohol, I'd look forwards to that.

I pretty much only drink now if I want to get my end away.

So probably 2 out of 10 nights out a month I guess.

In answer to your other question, I don't really like many people so it'd depend on the company !

I agree with you about food/cinema/get together. Sadly my mates seem to think nothing is a "night out" unless it's getting smashed. Likewise people at work would say "The weekend? Nah, I didn't do anything, just went out for a meal and saw that new film". Or "Had a great night on Saturday, totally smashed, don't even remember arriving at the Palace, threw up just as I was about to get in the taxi apparently, woke up fully clothed in the hallway, really suffering now though".

For the past two years or more I genuinely have wanted to change to someone who can go out, enjoy himself and not drink at all.

Peer pressure is for me the worst of the lot. Even my girlfriend will have a go at me if I said, "Yeah sure I'll drive tonight as a favour.."

I'm not an alco or anything but I just feel like it's a waste of money sometimes.

Maybe I should just bang in some caffeine tablets and pretend I'm smacked off my head.

The same as if I were drinking, having a laugh, catching up with mates and so on. You don't need to be drunk to enjoy yourself, if you do you have a problem.

I am not talking about being drunk off your head.

I don't know if this is a **** example :

If you invite a vegetarian to barbecue which is associated with meat etc.

They are going to feel uncomfortable, considering everyone is enjoying them selfs.

So the vegetarian is going to have a **** time because everyone around them is eating meat.

Not an awful example, but doesn't really prove anything. The veggie can still go along and have just as much fun as anyone else there, just without eating meat :confused:

Whenever my vegetarian mate comes around for a BBQ we just shove a couple of vegeburgers on and he enjoys himself just like everyone else.

I don't get what you're on about I think.

I go out with my mates and if it's my turn to be the designated then I drink coke or OJ and have just as much of a laugh regardless even though everyone else is drinking alcohol.

If you can't enjoy yourself without drinking then there is something not quite right.

I've found that alcohol is a very good way to filter out your proper friends anyway. Some of them take an opinion like Lixxus does and look at me strangely when I order a coke, or refuse cigarettes, etc. Those same people eventually stopped inviting me out.

But now, looking at them on Facebook, i'm so glad they did. "OMG I lost my iPhone/wallet/keys cos I was so wasted!" like it's some kind of trophy. If only they could see themselves.

These people are claiming to not drink full stop.

Some people drink but only maybe 3 times a month. I am not talking about losing your identity and your teeth every weekend with massive debts and hangovers.

Do you find it hard to believe people that they don't drink at all? Their nights out go exactly the same as yours do, just without the drinks, that's the only difference.

It can be easy to drink too much when you're having a **** time. The solution is to realise that and then work out why you're having to drink more and more to enjoy yourself.
