**TELL AORUS YOUR WEAPON OF CHOICE**

Am in the market for 'gaming grade' laptops, as myself and my team business meetings by day, and gamers by night. We need some entertainment when travelling, so this type of design, as many people have mentioned wouldn't be suitable. We'd not against bold design features, arty logo's etc per se, but they have to be able to serve double duty in a meeting.

As a few guys have mentioned, Camo has a limited appeal, and I think most serious PC gamers (particularly those that have the disposable income to buy a gaming laptop, usually to compliment a gaming desktop) would be put off by the design as shown. Perennially popular enclosure providers like Lian Li and Silverstone, and modern counterparts such as Phanteks - amongst others - have shown that simple, well engineered designs with attention to detail have mass appeal, and it's this sort of steer I'd personally like to see.

A moderate gaming spec machine (13-14", as per the X3), with a cleanly designed frame, with some artistic/designed elements. That's what I'd buy (and am looking for!)

Sorry in advance for the really bad photoshop work :D ( I am not good at this stuff ) But i wanted to give you a idea of what i was saying earlier with the carbon and silver but lack the skill or time to do a good one :D but you will get the idea i think/hope :D

If you want me to remove the image for any company related things just let me know :D

EDIT : If i actually owned a AORUS laptop i think i would consider trying to make something along the lines of ^ but ofc a lot tidier ect. Shame i don't have one :D Though it is on my books!

looks awesome but only if its priced correctly, I wouldn't pay a premium for it over a normal boring looking laptop.

Hi BaNksY.....

It will be priced correctly :D

We think there should be an amusing reference to correctly priced artwork considering your name,,,

Thanks

Not much for it personally, would really like to see more designs on the market though, maybe even some kind of "accent pack" that you can buy seperately to make the laptop your own. If that happens... I want royalties.

Good skills harry5522!

Thanks for taking time to do this, its appreciated and we see your idea clearly now.

All ideas are open for discussion with our design team and this style has been mentioned, so its good to see you are thinking the same as us :-)

Thanks again,

Team AORUS

Love the design / look of it, wouldn't have any issues taking it to meetings and whatnot if nothing else a conversation starter.

:D:eek::cool::)

Wont suit every corporate occasion for sure, but nice to hear from someone who could use it as a business machine.

Eve Online

You could do a range of them, One for each faction?

Rifter / Merlin etc
or
Battle ship Scheme, Frigate Scheme, Battle Cruiser Theme?

Yup, we think the possibilities are quite exciting and numerous !

Team AORUS

love the design:)
I would like to see X5 and X7 so there is a top spec and more affordable versions avalible to more people.

I wouldn't mind a design similar to the Ka Bar knife zombie range. I think it was lime green with a bio hazard symbol. May be the stealth version mentioned higher up in the article.

TBH i think most of the gaming community would be happy with a good theme so long as you could market it at a game type.

Thanks Almightyliham,

We are considering everything at the moment, and all ideas will be in the melting pot,,, thanks for your input and look out for the first X5 model in this design announced with OcUK soooooon

:D No problem, i often have troubles clearly explaining things thus it's commonly easier for me to do a really vague doodle or a rough photoshop to manipulate my thoughts into something visible.

It's nice to see design teams embracing customer ideas definitely sets some companies apart from the crowd that is for sure.

Thanks :D

My opinion is:

- It is too generically themed to have any appeal
- Is that a vinyl wrap or a professional paint job?
- I don't like it as I prefer elegant designs
- Maybe if it had some association with a major AAA game then it would have greater selling power

Hi Twirlywoos,

Thanks for your input.

The design is a hand applied print process, not a wrap.

I suppose a limited run in a pattern like this would be a good idea. I'd personally think about doing it in a similar way to how Filco do coloured versions of their keyboards. I have a limited production camouflaged TKL of theirs, but they also sell blue, beige (white) and red cased versions.

But how wouldn't it be appropriate for a business meeting? Stick it on the desk, no-one will see it, Netflix on, slacking level 9000!

:cool::eek::cool::D:D

But isn't that a market in itself? Certainly more and more 'console kiddies' coming over to PC gaming the last few years, you know the ones - mommy and daddy have too much money and buy little johnny a new 'gaming laptop' to compensate for the time they spend away from him while working?
IMO, it's up there with a cheap plastic toy soldier helmet that has speakers in, marketed as being designed specifically for CoD.
IIRC, ^that one took off about as well as Nintendo's Robotic Operating Buddy...

Of course the design isn't going to appeal to everyone, and yes it would be marketed to the FPS / War Gamer that would find this appealing.
As a gamer who plays a number of military FPSes, as well as being a former soldier myself, it's not something that appeals to me.

The actual pattern is "genuine" military design known as "MULTICAM" and we have to have a licence to use it - so 100% it IS an actual military design, so is in line with other military kit.
While the pattern may well be a military one, the laptop is still just a laptop.
Most military tech hardware is not actually painted in a Cam pattern anyway, but you also have the added difficulty in limiting yourself to just the one pattern out of many. If you were able to offer a range of patterns to choose from, that might increase interest...

But painting a Ford Escort in DPM/ACU/MTP/DigiCam/ERDL would not make it a military *design* of car and the same is true here.
That's why I suggested a revision of the actual build design, citing the actual GRiDCASE military laptops as one example.
As another example, the Corsair C70 is a step toward a military theme someone like me *would* consider buying... and to be honest I very nearly did buy one of those!

Sorry if these seems negative - I am trying to be constructive, though! ;)

Hi ttaskmaster

We certainly dont beleive this will appeal to every single FPS player, as you have proved :-)

Neither are we trying to imply that with CAMO design the laptop is suddenly battlefield ready ( in the virtial sense maybe, but not on an actual front line!). The MULTICAM pattern is a genuine military design, this is what we were stating, sorry if that wasnt clear.

We are simply trying to offer something unique to a customer base that we beleive wants a degree of indiviuality with their kit.

We take all feedback constructively, no matter how "negative" it may seem on the surface, it's still valuable to us, so thanks for your input and sharing your views.

Reagrds,

Yeah, but even if it were only 'virtual', the look alone actually would have me interested!

If I were to guess, I'd say it's a 'Man Toy' thing - Kinda like how a grown-up geek will buy a '100% screen accurate Lightsaber' made from a genuine Graflex flash handle, while a younger geek might be happy with a £20 plastic one. I'm more interested in something that looks like it can actually do what it evokes with it's appearance... even if it can't really do it.

If that makes sense?
My own PC looks like an '80s supercomputer', for example - Lots of flashing LEDs and things - But there's no way it can actually talk or drive itself! :D

Nah, it was clear. I was mainly just being picky on the terminology to further clarify my own points more than anything else.

Which I understand and fully support, although thinking about it, my suggestion of offering a choice of patterns might be moot if you need a licence to use each one... might also be a bit more expensive at the retail end.

Good job on the Thunder M7, though - I'm really liking the look and features on that!
