First off this is the card I have...
http://www.asus.com/Graphics_Cards/EAH6970_DCII2DI4S2GD5/

I'm currently having a problem with some of my games on and off...After about a few hours, Maybe like 2 or 3...I get this weird like glitching? noise and my screen starts to flicker in places and such...
I looked on GPU-Z and my card is running at about 70c on idle and running up to like 90c and higher on games, Then it starts to just do what I just explained...

Any other people had this problem?

i have tried blowing it out, Ridding my card/computer of dust, but I do that like every 2 weeks or so anyway, It's all clean...

Thank in advance guys!

Andy.

70c on idle? That's insane temps at idle. I think it's on its way out. From my IT hardware experience many GPUs that are near the end of their life cycle start to get toasty.

Oh not good :\

Can you think of any cheap-ish alternatives? Obviously I don't want to lose too much power but I'm willing to downgrade a little if needs be, Not a good time to be needing to replace my card haha.

Thanks, Andy.

Thanks, Andy.

Before i splashed out on a new card i'd be checking that the mount hasn't been moved between the gpu and heatsink,
if your up for it, i would first remove the gpu shroud(give it a hoovering/brush) and replace the thermal paste.

If your still getting high temps after that then it's not looking good :(
Maybe try wiping your drivers clean and a fresh driver install as a last resort.

Ok will do, thanks a lot...
Any suggestions on cards just in case though?
Just thinking about not having to repost if all doesn't go well...

Thanks a lot guys!

Andy.

Make sure you don't have that bitcoin virus. Also you stated 70c idle but never said what the gpu usage was reading in gpu-z. Make sure it is actually idle. If all that seems good then give the card a good clean and replace the TIM. Also if you're running some overclocking software on the gpu remove it for now and make sure all is back to defaults on the gpu eg. clocks and any volts you may have increased.

This is a picture of the screen and all the info sitting in idle...

Bitcoin virus? Anything I can do to check?

Thanks.

you running 120hz or higher monitor or more than one screen?

its not entering idle clocks 300mhz core

for any mining virus look at the gpu activity,it will be at full,

mines latest beta driver

pretty sure your core should idle at 300mhz,my 5770 does which is an older card

google display driver uninstaller and wipe the old drivers and do clean driver install then see

i also agree with the others and giving the cooler/heatsink a good clean/blow out with compressed air and a repaste of tim

somethings up,could be a virus but try clean install of drivers first like i posted above

use stopzilla to scan for mining virus

Ok just did a clean install of the drivers, Still saying/doing the same thing in AMD Overdrive, Should I try stopzilla just in case?

Malware or virus?

Edit: Just tried to run StopZilla twice...Both times it froze out my computer at like 10%?

Thanks again guys...Thinking of just waiting till tomorrow and trying to replace the paste...

Anything else?

Thanks so much again...

I've only fresh installed not long ago...Probably about 1 week ago or so...Would I of had to of ran a miner to get a mining virus?? :S

Going to try Malwarebytes now...

Think it's going to be better to leave it here till I replace the paste tomorrow unless anyone else has any suggestions, Thanks guys!

Malwarebytes would also be my recommendation http://www.malwarebytes.org/mwb-download/

Have you downloaded any free Games or Software from the tinternet lately?

If you have you might not want to run that software again, get rid of it.

You can also get it from Web Pages, and Scam Emails.

i tried malwarebytes it didn't cure my virus but stopzilla did,you might have different virus than one i had tho
